Sweden is a Scandinavian country situated between Norway and Finland. Its inhabitants speak Swedish, but other minority languages are also spoken, such as Sami, Yiddish, Romani, Meänkieli, and Finnish. The capital is Stockholm, where there are plenty of opportunities for coliving.
No trip to Sweden would be complete if you didn’t explore the capital, Stockholm. It compromises of 14 islands situated in the Baltic Sea, connected by more than 40 bridges.

Stockholm has a rich history, with its old town Gamla Stan having cobblestone streets. You will find the 13th century Storkyrkan Cathedral there, the Nobel Museum and the Kungliga Slottet Royal Palace. This is the official residence of the King of Sweden, although he and his family reside in Drottningholm Palace. This is located on Lovon Island. The palace and its gardens are open to the public.
You can see the 40-minute ceremony of the changing of the guards every day of the week, which starts at 12.15 and takes place in the courtyard. On Sundays, it starts a little later at 1.15.

The open-air museum Skansen, on Djurgården Island, is the first of its kind. A zoo and a few farmsteads are located on the island, too.
For those interested in ancient ships, Vasa is home to a 17th century ship and the maritime museum.
If you like cold weather, visit Sweden between November and March. Sweden’s summer isn’t really hot, but it is pleasant. Many tourists visit the country between May and November.
Gothenburg is a picturesque city where you can go on a canal boat, find the Liseberg Amusement Park and stroll along the café-lined Avenyn Boulevard.
If you feel adventurous, you can visit Kiruna in a remote part of Lapland. You can really get away from it all there.

Another good place to visit is the island of Gotland. You can visit the island of Faro (not to be confused with the Faroe Islands) and also the town of Visby with its mediaeval churches.

• Selma Lagerlöf was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Interestingly, Sweden has had 7 Nobel Prize winners in Literature.

• The Nobel Prizes are awarded in Stockholm every year.
• There are somewhere between 300,000 and 400,000 moose in Sweden. They are Sweden’s most dangerous animals.
