Santa Monica Beach Coliving

Great place for a temporary stay by the beach.

I stayed here for five months while getting settled. It's an absolutely perfect place to land when you first arrive, especially if you're coming on your own. Everything is included in the rent, so you don't have to worry about dealing with utilities, which can be difficult when you're new and don't have a US credit score yet. Basic supplies are provided such as toilet paper, washing up liquid, and cleaning supplies. There's a free laundry onsite. A maid service comes regularly to clean the communal areas, so you don't have to worry about arguing over who is cleaning the kitchen and bathroom.

The unit is really well-located. It's quiet and leafy, with just a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. There's a great street nearby with lots of cafes and restaurants. It's also only about a 20-minute walk from downtown, which has cinemas, groceries, and other stores. And if you're using public transport like I was, it's close to a range of useful bus routes.

Being older and used to living in my own apartment back home, I was a little nervous about coliving, but the units have slightly different characters, and Sean and Janeen think carefully about which would suit you best. I lived with two lovely, quiet, and considerate flatmates, which was perfect for me, but some of the other units have a bit more of a social vibe if that's your thing.

What truly sets this place apart are the property managers, Sean and Janeen. They are two of the loveliest and most helpful people I’ve ever had as landlords. Their professionalism and genuine care for tenants make the living experience exceptional.

From the moment I moved in, Sean and Janeen went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and addressed any concerns promptly. Their friendly demeanor and attention to detail create a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.

The layout of the apartments, including the shared living spaces, makes it easy to socialize if you'd like, but the rooms are private enough to allow for alone time as well. I really appreciated the community events that were organized to help residents connect. The staff are incredibly welcoming and lovely, always going above and beyond to ensure a great experience.

The location is prime—within walking distance to downtown and just seven blocks from the ocean, close to many bars and restaurants.

I wouldn't change this experience for anything, and if I'm ever in the area again, I would love to return.
