A multi-generational, international community.
In our house, students, professionals, families, and elders live together under one roof. Some stay for a few months, while others remain for years, making the place part of their long-term lives. Former residents often stay nearby, so the community naturally extends beyond the walls of the house.
A mission to cultivate shared life.
Our mission is to create a home where daily life is shared with care, respect, and curiosity. We aim to be more than just a living space—hosting music and cultural gatherings, tending gardens, and building connections with neighbors and local communities.
Living here means being part of a community that values dialogue, diversity, and the joy of everyday life together.
Life woven into the neighborhood.
Our property sits on a small hill near Yokodai Station. Over the years, it has blended into the town’s everyday scenery. Housemates often share ties with local shopkeepers, favorite cafés, and neighbors who become friends through shared hobbies. Former residents still live close by with their families, keeping the sense of community alive outside the house.
Homegrown culture in the town.
The house has inspired small cultural activities that ripple into the neighborhood. Residents and neighbors co-host music gatherings, yoga sessions, bread and sweets workshops, creating a friendly rhythm between house and town, where creativity and sharing naturally connect people.
Extending beyond Yokodai.
Some former housemates have moved to rural communities, creating new hubs linked back to us. In Kamogawa, Chiba, an old farmhouse has become a second home for residents, with projects involving MUJI and universities. In Ishioka, Ibaraki, Masuo Farm grows diverse trees and vegetables, occasionally sending fresh produce to the house. These places form a wider web of community life that enriches what begins in Yokodai.
