Espaços coliving em Belo Horizonte

With a population of 2.5 million people, Belo Horizonte is a bustling, lively city. Digital nomads love the lifestyle and green space when they come here on their coliving adventure.

The city’s most admired landmarks were created by world-famous architect Oscar Niemeyer. The “Hippie Fair” Latin America’s largest craft market. On Sunday mornings the traffic on the street stops to host over 2000 craft stalls. The city hosts the country’s largest aquarium, with over 50 species of fish.

Belo Horizonte has both a bus and metro system but they’re not too effective - between inconvenient locations and poor syncing between bus and metro, it can be frustrating. Walking and cycling are fun but can prove challenging with the many hills in town - also keep an eye on your map because the diagonal streets can quickly send you off course. Taxis are expensive but probably the best choice if you’re not looking to break a sweat.

Remote workers love finding a coliving space here as it’s the culinary capital of Brazil. One traditional delight is a soup with smoked sausage and pork rib. Cachaça is a regional and Brazillian specialty - a spirit made from fermented sugar cane juice.

The city’s altitude allows the city to be cooler than others. Daytime highs in summer (November - February) are in the mid-80s with heavy rain, while winters are quite dry and still warm in the mid to high 70s.

Here are some fun facts about Belo Horizonte:

- Built in 1897 it was Brazil’s first planned metropolis
- There are over 60 parks in the city covering over 8 million square meters
- Belo Horizonte is the third most forested city in Brazil
- The locals who live here are called Mineiros - they hate using full words, and enjoy calling anything they please a “trem,” meaning ‘thing’ - so if you don't know the word for something just point and say “trem”
