Ever since the United Nations started releasing the World Happiness Report in 2012, Denmark has consistently ranked among the “happiest” countries in the world. With a generous government welfare system and an egalitarian society with tolerant and liberal-minded people, it would be hard for anyone to find something to frown upon where Denmark is concerned. Digital nomads who wish to partake of the collective Danish happiness can easily find wonderful coliving spaces, especially in the capital city of Copenhagen.

There are many wonderful activities that people can do in this beautiful Scandinavian country. Cycling is a very popular activity in Denmark. There are twice as many bicycles than cars. It is a relatively flat country with no mountains to speak of. Hence, avid cyclists will relish the opportunity to bike around the picturesque locales. With virtually no uphill climbs, you can just focus on enjoying the scenery.
Beach lovers will have a wonderful time visiting the many beaches all over the country, especially during the summer. Being an archipelago, Denmark has approximately 11,771 km of coastline. Wherever you are in Denmark, you are never more than 50 km away from the sea. They even have a beach which has become famous for surfing, called Cold Hawaii, and it is one of the most popular beaches in Scandinavia.
Soccer enthusiasts can bond with the locals by watching a game or two at the nearest stadium. It is the country’s favorite past-time and national sport.

If you like a little bit of history, you can also take a stroll at Stroget Street. It is the oldest street in Denmark; at 3.2 km long, it is also recognized as the longest pedestrian street in the world.
Tivoli Garden in Copenhagen is another popular attraction. It is said that Walt Disney was so impressed during his visit there that it inspired him to build a similar amusement park, called Disneyland, upon his return to the United States.
For those who love fairytales, you can visit The Little Mermaid’s statue, which sits atop a rock along the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen.
Kronborg Castle is the model for Elsinore Castle in William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. A sleeping statue of the mythological Danish warrior Holger Danske is located in its basement.
Legend says that the famous warrior will actually awaken to save Denmark if the country is ever placed in serious danger.
