StartArt Residency

I spent a few days at this artistic residency and loved the experience. The space is surrounded by nature, super peaceful, one of those places that really make you disconnect and enjoy the moment. At the same time you can feel art everywhere, especially on the walls painted by various artists, which gives the place a very special personality.
The hosts also make all the difference; they welcomed us very well and created a very welcoming atmosphere from the beginning. And the food... really very good, made with care and full of flavor. It was one of those places that make you want to return. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes nature, creativity, and authentic environments.

I stayed at this beautiful boutique coliving for a few days in April and absolutely loved the experience. The room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly peaceful — the perfect place to relax and disconnect. The surroundings were so calm and beautiful.

One of my favorite parts of the stay was spending time in the river. I went swimming and kayaking, and it was simply stunning. The village itself is also wonderful, with lovely bars, great restaurants, and excellent wine.

A special thank you to the host, who was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. They made the experience even more special.

I already want to come back soon — maybe for a longer stay next time and even work remotely from there for a while. Highly recommended.

A very beautiful and inspiring place, very nearby but removed from the passage of time, it invites tranquility.
The host welcomes guests with warmth, professionalism and flexibility. The decor is stimulating and invites curiosity to discover what is done there. I liked it very much.

Staying with the host was the breath of fresh air I never knew my body, my mind, and my whole self were starving for. Let me explain:
I was finally able to break the constraints my body had been tied to after being stuck for so long in my physical routine, even including that daily dose at the gym, gaining some fluidity, a lightness, so to speak. A lightness that comes from swimming in a river and not a swimming pool, or hiking surrounded by nature (to my taste, in a beautiful region) far away from a treadmill. Adding new memories to your muscle memory.
My mind, from the creativity and, as it goes hand in hand, health aspects, was as if the dark clouds gave way to a rich, eventful sky - dawn, dusk & twilight - and the collected rainwater used for watering an enriched and newly seeded soil. A garden that to this day is still bearing fruit.
And the me, because we are not just the sum of two parts. Call it what you'd like - but yeah, that which came to mind. A renewal, an integrated renewal. AND FOOOOOD!! Delicious food! and wines+! Homemade on site (yes, I consider it home-made) and at quaint, picturesque nearby places (or in the nearby city center. Beautiful, solid-boned city).
There, not just the sum of two parts.
All of this was made possible by the location, amenities, whatever else I could name that I'm not mentioning, and, most of all, the people. The type of people that leave their mark on you even if you don't keep in touch later on. The hosts definitely fall in that category, even though I am keeping in touch with them. But also a community built that you could not find anywhere else.

The combination of nature, tranquility, and art creates a perfect environment for those seeking creativity, reflection, and connection with others.

The location is surrounded by very beautiful natural scenery, by the riverbank, inviting one to slow down and enter a more creative state.
It is an ideal place for those seeking retreats, artistic residencies, or simply for anyone wanting to be in a stimulating and different environment.

It is undoubtedly a very special project in the north of Portugal.

The experience was simply incredible! The space has a unique energy, surrounded by nature, inspiring creativity and tranquility at the same time. There were days of much exchange, fun, and I left wanting to return already ✨ I recommend it a thousand times!

What an amazing experience of connection with art, collectivity, nature, and with your inner self. This coliving can be classified separately by different aspects, and even getting 5 stars in all of those aspects alone wouldn’t do justice to the whole “package,” which is the full experience. Just by getting there, you feel the peace, welcomed by the project mentor, who is such a great person. Along with him, the cuties, a sweet dog and a not less sweet cat. The house itself is huge, which doesn’t mean it’s not comfortable. You can feel the coziness in every single corner of the house. You really feel at home there. The rooms are so nicely furnished and equipped, the common areas invite you to connect with other people, and the main thing in this whole “house structure” is not even that, but obviously, the art shared in its walls. Everywhere you look, in and outside the house, contains art. Different artists come to the residency and leave their contribution to the place, making it even more meaningful and rich. The nature that surrounds the house is stunning. It brings peace and makes you feel renewed, recharged. There is a river just by the house that leads us to super nice escapes such as waterfalls. We can practice water sports while connecting with nature and other guests. All these experiences are enriched by the close relationship between the project mentor and the guests. He is always guiding and explaining everything we see and experience. At the same time, you can take time for yourself and be at peace to create, meditate, write, or work… and the beauty of this place is also how it’s integrated with the community. The house is like hugged by the community, and everyone is super welcoming and friendly. This coliving can be the perfect spot for digital nomads and those looking for this type of connection, art, collectivity, and self-discovery. I was really impacted by my experience there. And I will come back for sure. Thanks to the staff.

A memorable experience. A perfect environment to relax, enjoy nature, in addition to being a cultural and gastronomic immersion in a remote location but with access to plenty of information and the opportunity to rest the mind and spirit.
