Surrounded by gardens, green with tropical flowers, fruit trees and butterflies. We started building in 2010 and in 2015 we opened up our rooms to share our beautiful home. The top level is for socializing. A large lounging area with wooden day beds and batik cushions. We put the projector on at night with the surround sound for a good action film or sit back with the guitar and watch the sunset. The shelves are full of paints, board games and magazines. Complimentary fast WIFI is available for guest use. The open kitchen and marble bar area are set up with refrigeration and cooking facilities. Make yourself at home with cold beers or pots of homemade lemongrass and ginger tea. The outdoor kitchen area has a hot plate for BBQs and a wood fire oven for pizza nights and fresh bread. Clean drinking water is provided. Outdoors we have a paved secure parking area with a basketball hoop, seating area and pool table. This area looks over the jurassic style mountains of Maluk Bay and you can relax in the private outdoor shower surrounded by ferns, passionfruit flowers and bougainvillea vines. Downstairs we have six private freshly renovated bedrooms where you can escape to a quiet corner with a book. Large bamboo bed frames with fresh white cotton sheets, towels and mosquito nets. The rooms have panoramic views and a private bathroom with clean western toilets, sinks and showers. Locally made turmeric soaps and large fans add a little luxury. In the morning we go surfing. We have boards for hire or it’s a short walk along the beach to the restaurants for fresh mango juice and a morning swim. West Sumbawa has thick wild rain forests perfect for exploring. We have scooters and dirt bikes available for rent and can organize a ride through the rain forests or if you want something more serious there is a state dirt bike competition track in Sekongkang.
We welcome surfers, remote workers, skaters, and colivers who love remote beautiful places. We host anyone from around the world that wants to enjoy and share experiences in Indonesia.

Sumbawa is one of the largest and most unpopulated islands in Indonesia. This is evident around our house with secluded and hassle-free beaches, waterfalls, and walking tracks. The island's greatest attractions are its gorgeous white-sand beaches, tremendous surf, and astounding coral reefs. Here, there are many travelers who are adventure seekers in search of extreme surfing alternatives or who simply want to appreciate the ocean's splendor. Sumbawa's awe-inspiring splendor will leave every visitor enchanted by the island's emerald-colored waters and breathtaking landscapes. Mount Tambora, which is still an active volcano, The Mata Jitu Waterfall, The Dalam Loka and the exotic Pasar Syketeng. You can wake up early and watch the fishing boats with their baskets of fish returning from a night at sea. The fishermen sell the fish straight from the beach or you can head to the local fresh food and handicraft markets. Some things to look out for are Sumbawa coffee beans and mangosteens. Along with West Sumbawa antiques and handwoven baskets. Maluk is a one-stop-shop with all your basic needs.
