Like much of the southwestern United States, San Antonio was controlled by the Spanish for a time and is thus named after one of the many saints. With a population of 1.4 million, there are countless coliving opportunities in America’s seventh-largest city.

San Antonio has mild winters with only about 16 nights that dip below freezing temperatures. Summers are pretty hot in the high 90s. The most pleasant months are April, October, and November.

The most famous landmark in all of Texas is the Alamo - the site of a famous battle between the Mexican and Texian Republics. For a day full of flavor and culture, visit El Mercado, which has over a hundred Mexican shops and restaurants. Those who prefer nature can choose from a cavern visit, cycling, and kayak tours. Day trip ideas include an hour and a half drive to Austin or a two-hour drive to the Hamilton Pool Preserve.

Texas is no stranger to great food. Here you can find great barbeque, tex-mex, and Mexican fare. A classic San Antonio dish is the puffy taco served with beef picadillo. These complex flavors alone are enough to fill up coliving spaces around town.

Getting around town is easy by bus - one is even specific to attractions around town. Although it’s not necessary, car rentals are readily available and unlike most big cities it’s never difficult to find parking. The city also offers a bike share system and rentals are quite easy.
