Anglet sits between the historic streets of Bayonne and the surf culture of Biarritz, giving you the best of both worlds. You'll find 11 beaches stretching along the Atlantic, miles of pine forest, riverside cycling paths, and a mild ocean climate that makes it easy to spend time outside year-round. It's the kind of place where mornings start with a walk by the sea, afternoons are productive, and evenings end over great food or a sunset on the beach.

Unlike many famous surf towns, Anglet still feels local. You're surrounded by family-run cafés and neighbourhood markets like Halles de Blancpignon. The region has its own language, traditions, and charming Basque villages such as Espelette. A growing community of remote workers, surfers, and creatives gives the area an international feel, while the local food scene is known for fresh seafood, the famous piment d'Anglet pepper, and irresistible pastries. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into everyday life rather than simply passing through, Anglet is hard to beat.
