Budens is a small town of fewer than 2,000 residents that rests on the hillside overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Portugal. This is an amazing small town, that’s perfect for a quiet, coliving place. Budens is a parish in the municipality of Vila do Bispo in the western Algarve. The town is connected to the neighboring areas by a national highway and has a small but strong history. You can find ruins from the 17th-century fortress that sat on this hillside to defend any invaders.

This town has an extremely slow-paced lifestyle, with a few spas to relax in and a large gold course for you to enjoy on the weekends all while overlooking the Atlantic ocean. You can find a few cafes and coffee shops with free internet to unwind in and work remotely during the day and you can find a few restaurants in town to grab a quick bite to eat or opt to dine in as well. The town is surrounded by either beaches or rolling hills, giving this a great place to live an active lifestyle. You can enjoy the afternoon hiking around to different viewpoints or maybe spend it relaxing on the quiet beaches that lay just below the old town.

There is no real public transportation here, but as a town of fewer than 2,000 people, there is not really a need for one. You can get everywhere just by walking and if you’d like to visit a neighboring town then you can take the bus which operates only a few times per day. This town is really out there, but it also gives you the real value of privacy. The nearest airport is located in Faro which is roughly 80 miles away from the town.
