Set in the Val d'Anniviers, Grimentz is a hidden delight for all who wish to enjoy its quaint and historic scenery. An off-the-beaten-path choice for coliving, this cultural village is a chance to escape the daily routines of modern life. With its narrow main street decorated by blackened-wood homes, it's a chance to take a step back in time. Burgher House from 1550 forms the center of the village, and if you step down into its cellar you can try the white glacier wine maturing there.
The village offers nomads a variety of activities dependent on the season of the stay. More commonly known for its excellent skiing season. Grimentz is the skiing hub of the Val d'Anniviers, and still fairly unknown compared to other more over-visited areas. If the 3000m of skiing area doesn't quite take your fancy, then the winter charm can be experienced through either guided tours, the fun toboggan runs, or some refreshing winter hiking. In summer, when things warm up a bit, you can spend your breaks hiking or biking the 620 miles of scenic routes in the Valais and view the variety of flora and fauna to be found.
Access to Grimtenz from Zürichtakes about 3-4 hours, but once you're in the Val d'Anniviers then travel between the villages and resorts is done by road, meaning a car is more than useful, especially whilst coliving. A free bus service runs up and down the valley throughout the winter, but to explore the whole valley, four wheels are your new best friend.
