Siem Reap is a small town in north-western Cambodia with a lot going for it. With a population of less than 200,000, it’s a fantastic place to come and explore and choose as a coliving destination. Digital nomads from far and wide are looking to SE Asia and Siem
Reap for culture, history and wonderful social connections. The expatriate community is truly thriving here and it’s easy to see why. Many people’s first thought about Siem Reap would be that of the magnificent Angkor Wat temple, but there is so much more to the town than this one impressive structure. For starters, there are approximately 50 Buddhist and Hindu temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park that date back to the 12th Century. Explore outside the Park and you will find ones even older than that. As it’s such a small town, the main mode of transport is tuk-tuks, motorbikes and bicycles. The Internet speed is increasing but power cuts are prone to happen. Many establishments have generators to overcome this problem. Siem Reap has varied and delicious cuisine and is especially popular with vegetarians and vegans who delight in the many restaurants that cater to their needs. It’s easy to see why it’s become a coworking and coliving hub and why more and more coliving spaces are being established here. Siem Reap has so much to offer besides the incredible temples – from local markets to art galleries, to social enterprises that focus on helping the local community - there is even a thrilling circus performance every night in a big top. The performers at the circus are all underprivileged and at-risk young adults who have been trained to perform at the highest level. The cost of living is extremely low here – and the cinema, gym and regular social events make this one of the most enticing coliving destinations in SE Asia.

- Spiders, snakes and insects are local delicacies – you can even do a cooking class to learn how to turn them into a tasty snack.

- The Tonle Sap Lake is the largest saltwater lake in SE Asia and is home to many families who live on the lake in floating villages.
