From mountains to deserts, from escarpments to beaches, South Africa has something for everyone. It’s a great stop for digital nomads seeking some adventure on their coliving journey.
Though the interior highlands are colder, many cities in South Africa have summer daytime highs in the high 70s and winters in the mid-60s. Most of the country doesn't have too much rainfall, with most of it in the summer months.
Getting around is easy with many options. There are budget airlines, busses and trains for travel, but car travel is certainly the most popular. Renting a vehicle is simple and makes it easy for the day and weekend trips.
South Africa is certainly known for the amazing safaris one can go on. With countless things to do, it’s no surprise remote workers live their coliving spaces here. The country hosts the world’s largest crater at over 300 km across. If you’re brave you could always try the world’s highest commercial bungee jump off Bloukrans Bridge - only 710 feet! If you’d prefer to drink your way through the country, that’s possible too. With 530 miles of road through wine country, this is the world’s longest wine route.
The country’s cuisine draws from the many countries that have settled there. It’s also home to the world's largest Indian population outside of India so expect great curries. For a unique meal try bunny chow - a curry served in a hollowed-out loaf of bread. The walls of the interior slowly peel off and they are full of curry goodness.
