Espaces de coliving en Égypte

With a population of 96 million as of 2017, Egypt is the most populous Arab country in the world. It is considered to be one of the centers of Islamic arts, culture and entertainment that influence much of the Arabic world across the Middle East and North Africa.
It was briefly thrust into the spotlight in 2011 when its social media-savvy youth organized one of the more successful demonstrations during the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ revolution which eventually toppled the 30-year reign of then-President Hosni Mubarak.
The widespread use of social media that came to the fore was a revelation to most people from the West as it was previously assumed that there was minimal social media usage for the traditionally conservative country's 90% Muslim population.
Today, the country continues to buck stereotypes and is embracing modern concepts in terms of working arrangements without necessarily compromising their inherent personal values.

Depending on your inclination, digital nomads who wish to explore Egypt can choose between exceptional coliving spaces in the capital city of Cairo, the seaside town of Dahab along the Red Sea coast, and even on the isolated Siwa Oasis in the Western Desert.

Fun Facts About Egypt:

- All of the discovered tombs of known kings and pharaohs were heavily looted by robbers, except for the tomb of King Tutankhamun which was discovered intact with all of its valuable treasure and artifacts
- For a country that is famous for its pyramids, it is surprising to know that Egypt doesn’t have the biggest pyramid in terms of volume (it’s the Great Pyramid of Cholula in Mexico) nor do they have the most number of pyramids constructed (their neighbor Sudan actually has twice as many).
- The Suez Canal, an artificial waterway linking the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea, is controlled by Egypt
- About 95% of the country’s population lives along the Nile River
