Even for its size, Koh Samui is home to only 75,000 permanent residents and sees roughly 2.7 million tourists a year, with plenty of opportunities to continuously meet new people from around the world. Koh Samui is surrounded by beautiful lush beaches and everything from 5-star resorts to your own jungle bungalows. This is a great experience if you’re just starting out as a remote worker.
You will not find yourself getting bored on this paradise island. There happens to be incredible nightlife all year round, plus jungle adventures from waterfalls to jeep safaris and of course scuba diving. You say you only want to spend a few weeks here, but once you arrive that may turn into a few months of coliving at least. Most people on Koh Samui have motorbikes, although cars are also an option. The most convenient way to explore and do your day to day will be by renting or buying a motorbike – it’s relatively cheap and fuel-efficient, you’d be crazy not to give it a try. Koh Samui is also home to an international airport as well, with daily flights to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and more.
