NUESTRA COMUNIDAD

I had a really wonderful time in the villa and can absolutely recommend it. The villa is large, super clean, and the garden is really well kept and perfect for relaxing. The best part, however, was the time with the group and the lovely people on site. Hiking together, going boating, baking, or just having movie nights – that's exactly what made the two weeks I spent there so special. With the two cars, you could explore the island at any time. A nearby viewpoint is also only about 20 minutes away and a perfect spot for sunrises and sunsets.I certainly won't be there for the last time :)I'm so grateful for these unforgettable memories I was able to collect there and for all the people I met during this time.
I had a wonderful week remote working with the host and exploring this magical island. From the start I was warmly welcomed into the community by our host who played a big part in making the experience so fun, smooth and organised! It was so lovely to work alongside fellow nomads, with plenty of space and great wifi throughout the villa. In the evenings, we all got to explore together and connect while watching sunsets, sunrises or hiking! The terrace is a favourite spot, watching the clouds below move over the island, and of course the dog kept us all company too. The community aspect was so enjoyable, just being conscious of the collective, sharing, helping, being present, taking care of each other and the house. Thank you the host, it was such a great experience and would recommend to anyone who has an open heart and wants to explore the island with like-minded people. Thank you! xx
Life-changing experience. Felt like home, definitely going back again, especially for the host who stole my heart.
I enjoyed my stay, but next time I’d choose a coliving closer to the city. The community manager was amazing and really helped make my experience great.
The only one of many travel destinations that has blown me away so much that I want to keep coming back:
- the host: beautiful villa with a large garden, many workspaces from the balcony to the terrace and the coworking space to the private desk in the room
- Hikes: for me a reset after every workday, a staff member has great suggestions for hikes; they are more beautiful than the official trails and most of the time you won't meet another person
- Community: a super relaxed and very diverse group who come to the host from all over the world; everyone is warm, open and helpful
I stayed at this coliving for a month and had a mixed experience. The community is fantastic—I met a lot of interesting people—and the host created a welcoming atmosphere and helped with requests. The garden is beautiful and well maintained, with a pizza and BBQ area that made for fun cooking nights. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature, which made it easy to focus on work and relax afterward. There were some disappointments. Information about car rentals wasn’t clear on the website, and I ended up paying extra for a rental and fuel that I hadn’t expected. My original room was changed because I arrived later than planned; although I’d seen a video beforehand, the actual room was much smaller, tucked under a sloped roof, and felt improvised. The private bathroom lacked basic items like a mirror, bath mat, towel hooks, and a shower shelf, and the toilet door had no lock. After two weeks I moved to a much better room, but billing was handled as a short-term stay rather than for the month, which didn’t feel fair. Internet was slow or unreliable on several days; they offered sim data or day passes to coworking spaces in Funchal, but I expect more consistent connectivity for a digital-nomad–focused coliving. Overall, the community, outdoor space, and host are great. I’d like to see clearer transparency, improved room standards, and more reliable internet and billing policies.
I had a nice time, but there were a few issues. My month at this coliving was enjoyable and I met great people. The community manager, Lilith, did a fantastic job. However, a few things bothered me and I wish I had known about them in advance. The place is quite remote, so you really need a car for most errands. The nearest small shop is about a 30-minute walk and the larger supermarket is a 20-minute drive. The only thing within walking distance is a levada hike, which is lovely but not something you do every day. Next time I’d consider a coliving in Funchal or nearby for easier access and typically better coastal weather. I expected on-site cars for residents, but cars are rented weekly with restrictions on who can drive them, which led to unexpected extra expenses. A cleaning fee is charged, and everyone must leave the house on Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM for cleaning, which is inconvenient. The house never felt consistently very clean: rooms are only swept weekly and bedding is changed every two weeks; my bedding was missed after the second week and I ended up washing it myself. Groceries are bought in bulk for everyone, which meant I paid for items I didn’t eat. I’d prefer shared staples to be purchased for all and everyone else buy their own items. Overall, management felt lacking—too much is left to the community manager, who is only around for short periods and also working.
An incredible experience. I work 9-5 but still managed to explore and see so much of Madeira. I booked 2 weeks and extended to 3. I met so many great people of different nationalities and bonded with the people who came and went. Then a few of us who made friends headed to Tenerife. Will I ever go home? Maybe. Will I return to this host? For sure.
Big thanks to the host team for bringing us all together and a huge thank you to the hosts during my stay.
Some notes to the unsure: bring hiking boots! Drink poncha! Live for sunsets and sunrises in the mountains! Prepare to make connections that will last!
Best coliving I ever experienced and definitely the best on the island - (of more than 10)
I’m coming here for the second time and it’s one of the best colivings I’ve been to. Every day after work there is something to do together with other colivers. I loved going for hikes, having dinner in the city, or just relaxing at the beach
