Meaning “little Venice,” Venezuela is a South American paradise. With the endless beauty and the low cost of living it's no surprise that remote workers love stopping by on their coliving adventure.

Venezuela is also home to the world's highest waterfall - water cascades down 2647 feet. With over 15 million hectares of rainforest, beaches, and islands, there are countless options for the adventurous traveler.

Most of the country falls into the “very hot” tropical zone, with annual average temperatures, always above 79°. The rain varies drastically depending on the region and time of year but the sunniest months are in the summer, with around 250 hours of sunshine.
Although gas only costs 2 cents per gallon, be wary about hiring a car - Venezuela is ranked as one of the deadliest places to drive. To make matters worse, there is a black substance that oozes from the road in Caracas, causing accidents - scientists still don’t know what causes it. The main options of getting around are by bus or plane. For longer distances, it’s cheap and easy to catch a flight with domestic one-way flights generally between 15 and 60 depending on when you book. Busses are great for shorter distances and because prices are so low, it’s with spending the extra dollar or two on a luxury bus.

Venezuelan cuisine is a great reason to seek out coliving opportunities here - there is so much amazing affordable food to enjoy. Arepas are the country’s answer to the Mexican taco - served in a corn flour pita and stuffed with perfectly spiced meat and vegetables. Drawing on Italian influences they even make their special version of lasagna featuring some interesting spices. Finally, no South American dessert is truly complete without ‘dulce de leche’, a rich milky caramel delight.
