Situé dans le Parc Naturel du Montseny (réserve de biosphère de l'UNESCO, à 45 km de la ville), Kalart a été fondé sur la conviction que travailler dans un environnement durable, rural et collaboratif, loin des pressions de la vie quotidienne en ville, peut restaurer et responsabiliser les personnes sur le plan personnel et professionnel.
