Manage multi-room requests

A multi-room request is one booking covering several rooms in the same listing — typically a couple, a friend group, or a family. It comes in as one request and you decide on it as a whole.

What's different

  • One booking, multiple rooms — you see all rooms in the request.
  • Accept-as-a-whole — you can't accept some rooms and decline others.
  • One payment, one cancellation policy — applied to the whole group.

How to handle them

Decide on the package

Look at all rooms together:

  • Do you have capacity for all of them on the requested dates?
  • Are the rooms compatible with the group (e.g. a couple needs a double bed)?
  • Are you comfortable with the residents?

If yes to all: accept.

If no on any: message before declining. They may be willing to:

  • Switch to different rooms.
  • Adjust dates.
  • Drop one resident from the group.

Set check-in expectations

Multi-room groups often arrive together but sometimes stagger. Confirm in the Inbox:

  • Same arrival time or separate?
  • Same transport or independent?

What if they want to change after the request comes in?

If the resident wants different rooms or dates:

  1. Don't accept the current request — terms lock at acceptance.
  2. Decline the current request with a friendly note explaining what's needed.
  3. Ask the resident to submit a new request with the right configuration.

Feels clunky, but it's the safe path.

What if one person in the group cancels mid-stay?

  • The booker decides what happens to the empty room.
  • An early end to the whole booking follows the cancellation policy.
  • Per-room partial cancellations during a stay aren't a self-service action — contact support.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can each resident in the group have their own contract? A: No. The booker is the contracting party. Side arrangements you make with individual residents are between you and them.

Q: Can I message all residents in the group at once? A: You message the booker through the Inbox. Other residents are reachable through the booker (or via their own Coliving accounts if they create them).

Q: What if residents in the group fight and one wants to leave? A: Encourage direct resolution first. If they can't, see Resolve disagreements during the stay.
