As Valencia is a thriving port city, located on Spain's South East Coast, it's a fantastic opportunity for any nomad wishing to experience coliving in a thriving city. Boasting a wide variety of activities due to its location next to the ocean, Valencia is home to not only a planetarium and a wetlands reserve, but also some amazing futuristic architecture. Keep an eye out for the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, because it's jaw-droppingly spectacular.
Known as the City of Arts and Science, any remote worker will have their days full to bursting with things to visit and experience. In fact, the river Turia is diverted around the great city, to make way for the Jardines del Turia, which is the largest public park in Spain. Think of all the sunny days you will enjoy here walking around the many small lanes filled with restaurants, bars, and shops. The city is also home to a great number of museums such as the Museo dell'Almoina, where you can experience Valencia's rich history comes to life, or better yet you can visit the Barri del Carme to see the true heart of this old city.
For nomads looking for a hub of culture, combined with a slower pace of life, Valencia fits the bill perfectly. With the city being relatively small and full of happy welcoming people, it means you will feel like home in no time. It's also often referred to as a big village, which makes it a great place to go for any remote worker wanting to be focused and productive, whilst enjoying a great life, work, and coliving balance.
Valencia's lower population than Spain's booming capital offers a chance to explore the city and its many wonders at a slower pace. Locals and visitors alike use bikes to visit the popular Albufera park, as well as the stunning beaches, and the famous Huerta, market gardens, which are full of affordable eateries and tasty paella dishes. Outside of walking and biking, Valencia has a well-connected Tram and Bus system perfect for exploring the city center. For travel outside of the city center, the Metro will get you there. All well within budget, so happy exploring!
You can understand why so many nomads are drawn to coliving in this magnificent place; with warm temperatures, great air quality and an affordable cost to live. It should be high on the list for many. Albeit colder in the winter, that can be easily solved by warming radiators and an extra layer of clothing, and language barriers solved through Spanish 101. If you really want to impress though, make sure to also learn some Valencian phrases.
Never has there been a better time to enjoy the slower Spanish way of life.
