Over Pyren'escape
Tijdens een familiereis, net na de opsluiting, toen we ons afvroegen hoe we onze activiteiten meer zin konden geven, besloten we ons grote gastenverblijf om te vormen tot een ontmoetingsplaats voor mensen die projecten willen realiseren.
Het concept van coliving, bekend bij reizende kinderen, kwam als vanzelf naar boven en mobiliseerde de hele familie. Anderhalf jaar later zijn we er en maken de Terrasses de Saubissan plaats voor Pyren'Escape, het eerste landelijke co-living in de Franse Pyreneeën.

Pyren'Escape is een unieke ervaring om in contact te komen met anderen en opnieuw in contact te komen met jezelf.
Toegang tot een rijk, intens en zinvol leven, gedeeld met een welwillende gemeenschap van vrije en creatieve geesten, in het hart van de bergen van de Pyreneeën.
Of het nu gaat om een telewerkverblijf in de bergen, een vakantie of de organisatie van een stage of seminar, ontdek deze atypische plek met 1001 mogelijkheden
Wie zijn wij? Voorheen Les Terrasses de Saubissan, Pyren'Escape is een oude boerderij, gelegen in het hart van de Pyreneeën, waar de bergen het hoogst zijn.
Toen we het in 2005 kochten, was onze familie-eenheid, bestaande uit Clairie, Vincent en hun twee kinderen, Babou en Yaël, niet specifiek bedoeld om zorg te verlenen.
We leerden rond een pension, bijna 20 jaar gerund door Vincent, terwijl Clairie zich wijdde aan architectuur, dat Babou vertrok om de wereld rond te reizen als een groot atleet en dat Yaël rustig opgroeide.
En toen kwam de covide crisis, en de vragen die daarop volgden. De ouders waren op weg naar het einde van hun professionele carrière, terwijl de kinderen aan het begin stonden, en we namen de tijd om na te denken over de toekomst van deze zeer grote boerderij, en de wensen van elk lid van de familie.
Vincent en Clairie wilden blijven ontvangen door zich los te maken van het monotone ritme van de vakanties en door meer betekenis te geven aan het onthaal, Babou en Yaël wilden hun leven voortzetten als digitale zelfstandigen.
Zodra de opsluiting voorbij was, ging de hele familie een tijdje op roadtrip om na te denken over het te volgen pad.
Zo werd het idee van een coliving geboren. We hadden een stukje paradijs in een ongerepte regio en we wilden het kunnen delen met mensen die er de tijd voor nemen. De link werd allemaal gevonden tussen de ouders, verliefd op hun gebied (maar die graag weggaan) en de kinderen, ultra verbonden met de wereld (maar die graag terugkomen).
Dus, omdat we van uitdagingen houden en omdat bij deze uitdaging iedereen zijn plek kon vinden, hebben we het eerste landelijke co-wonen in de Franse Pyreneeën gecreëerd.
Clairie en Vincent zijn het hoofd en de benen van de plek. Clairie ontwerpt de plannen, leidt het werk; Vincent beheert de reserveringen, verwelkomt, onderhoudt en neemt de rol van community manager op zich.
Babou en Yaël zijn de sociale managers, dankzij hun kennis van het web en sociale netwerken. Zij zorgen voor de zichtbaarheid van de plek, ook al deinzen ze er niet voor terug om er regelmatig te komen herbronnen.
Hier gaan we voor een nieuw avontuur dat zinvol is, en we hopen echt dat je je bij onze gemeenschap wilt aansluiten en van een magische plek wilt genieten. We wachten op je!

You'll love it here! The coliving with the big garden, fire pit, fruit trees, hammocks, and terrace is heaven on earth and serves the community really well.
The staff is the beating heart of it; helpful, fun, good spirited, and relaxed, making sure things are running smoothly, but also that the community is woven well together and knows about all possible activities and happenings far and wide.
The coliving and the staff create a great atmosphere, so it was really easy to build a connected, active community and to make some close friends. The internet is good, the office nice, the kitchen well equipped.
And do not get me started on the beautiful nature just behind the coliving, or on both ends of the border - I did many hikes, some climbing, and just lots of being outside and enjoying the peace in the village.
I will definitely come back again (and again).
I had such a beautiful experience at the coliving. The house is big, spacious, and very comfortable.The community is truly amazing. I had a really wonderful stay at the coliving. The staff was so helpful with arranging car hire and recommendations of where to go. There was a really welcoming, community vibe with activities and shared meals happening regularly. I had an en-suite double room with a nice view. Good facilities, a lovely outdoor space with a beautiful view, and different spaces to work, relax, and socialise.
Wow! I had the most amazing time in the coliving! Such a welcoming place matching perfectly with the warmth of the staff. It attracts soulful, like-minded, interesting people I expected. Not to mention our dear furry friend with his canine smile 😊 and the breathtaking views. Will come back for sure! Went on my own and left with dear new friends.

The scenery around and the nature are breathtaking, the house cozy and welcoming and the hosts are wonderful, always in the best mood, organizing activities and helping you feel like a local! There is a warm welcoming community around that makes you feel like a part of it!
The house is spacious - you can enjoy your own quiet time but also connect easily with the other colivers. It’s perfect for working remotely, with comfortable spaces to focus.
I met such lovely people and together we created wonderful memories! With so many activities, from hikes and local events to potlucks and cozy board games - every day felt special!

A rich experience filled with encounters in the mountains. A place conducive to sharing, where everyone finds their space to work or relax; I loved it!
Thank you to the team and the volunteers who welcomed me so well. I was able to go on wonderful hikes, as well as canyoning and via ferrata during my stay, not to mention the laughter during the BBQ evening. Unforgettable moments in this coliving where I would have loved to extend my stay!
Amazing volunteers and a great community! Unfortunately, the rooms are very run down, the bedsheets felt like they have been in use for many, many years in a row, the carpet was dirty and a bit smelly, and all the kitchen appliances were also very old. I still had an amazing time and hope the rooms will be renovated soon! 😊
