Lors d'un voyage en famille, juste après l'enfermement, alors que nous nous demandions comment donner plus de sens à nos activités, nous avons décidé de transformer notre grande maison d'hôtes en un lieu de rencontre pour les personnes désireuses de réaliser des projets.
Le concept de coliving, connu des enfants voyageurs, a naturellement émergé et mobilisé toute la famille. Un an et demi plus tard, nous y sommes et les Terrasses de Saubissan laissent place à Pyren'Escape, la première colocation rurale des Pyrénées françaises.

Qui sommes-nous ? Anciennement Les Terrasses de Saubissan, Pyren'Escape est une ancienne ferme, située au cœur des Pyrénées, là où les montagnes sont les plus hautes.
Lorsque nous l'avons acquise en 2005, notre cellule familiale, composée de Clairie, Vincent et de leurs deux enfants, Babou et Yaël, n'avait pas pour vocation première de faire de l'accueil.
Nous avons appris autour d'une maison d'hôtes, pendant près de 20 ans, tenue par Vincent, tandis que Clairie se consacrait à l'architecture, que Babou partait parcourir le monde en tant que grand sportif et que Yaël grandissait tranquillement.
Et puis, il y a eu la crise des covidés, et les questions qui ont suivi. Les parents étaient en fin de carrière, les enfants en début, et nous avons pris le temps de réfléchir à l'avenir de cette très grande ferme, et aux souhaits de chacun des membres de la famille.
Vincent et Clairie voulaient continuer à recevoir en s'extrayant du rythme monotone des vacances et en donnant plus de sens à l'accueil, Babou et Yaël voulaient continuer leur vie d'indépendants numériques.
Dès la fin de l'enfermement, toute la famille est partie en roadtrip le temps de réfléchir à la voie à suivre.
C'est ainsi qu'est née l'idée d'un coliving. Nous avions un coin de paradis dans une région préservée et nous voulions pouvoir le partager avec des gens qui prennent leur temps. Le lien était tout trouvé entre les parents, amoureux de leur territoire (mais qui aiment partir) et les enfants, ultra connectés au monde (mais qui aiment revenir).
Alors, comme nous aimons les défis et que, sur celui-ci, chacun pouvait trouver sa place, nous avons créé la première colocation rurale des Pyrénées françaises.
Clairie et Vincent sont la tête et les jambes du lieu. Clairie conçoit les plans, dirige les travaux ; Vincent gère les réservations, accueille, entretient et assume le rôle de community manager.
Babou et Yaël sont les social managers, grâce à leurs compétences dans le domaine du web et des réseaux sociaux. Ils assurent la visibilité du lieu, même s'ils ne dédaignent pas venir s'y ressourcer régulièrement.
C'est parti pour une nouvelle aventure qui a du sens, et nous espérons vraiment que vous aurez envie de rejoindre notre communauté et de profiter d'un lieu magique. Nous vous attendons !

What a fantastic six weeks. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.The house is located in a beautiful setting and is run by the hosts, two absolute legends, together with a team of volunteers who create a genuine community atmosphere. Every week, everyone gets together to discuss what’s happening, which activities are available, and what people would like to do. It’s all very spontaneous and relaxed, with nothing ever feeling forced.There’s something for everyone, from peaceful walks and hikes to more adventurous activities like paragliding and downhill mountain biking. For me, it felt like one giant playground.I was also surprised by how many local events are organized in the area, and every single one I attended was a lot of fun. It’s a great way to meet local people and experience the culture, which I really enjoyed.The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and working remotely with mountain views all around definitely does wonders!Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed every second of my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for adventure, community, and an unforgettable experience.

Amazing volunteers and a great community! Unfortunately, the rooms are very run down, the bedsheets felt like they have been in use for many, many years in a row, the carpet was dirty and a bit smelly, and all the kitchen appliances were also very old. I still had an amazing time and hope the rooms will be renovated soon! 😊
You'll love it here! The coliving with the big garden, fire pit, fruit trees, hammocks, and terrace is heaven on earth and serves the community really well.
The staff is the beating heart of it; helpful, fun, good spirited, and relaxed, making sure things are running smoothly, but also that the community is woven well together and knows about all possible activities and happenings far and wide.
The coliving and the staff create a great atmosphere, so it was really easy to build a connected, active community and to make some close friends. The internet is good, the office nice, the kitchen well equipped.
And do not get me started on the beautiful nature just behind the coliving, or on both ends of the border - I did many hikes, some climbing, and just lots of being outside and enjoying the peace in the village.
I will definitely come back again (and again).

It was my first experience in a coliving, and it couldn't have been better!The hosts are truly two beautiful souls: very kind people who were always available to clarify any doubts, to help with any needs, and always ready to bring their positive energy to the moments shared together, both inside the house and outside.The place is really beautiful, a paradise in the mountains. A perfect place to work both indoors in a large working space, and outside enjoying a breathtaking view. The variety of activities you can enjoy in the free time is incredible: from hiking and paragliding to via ferratas, local markets, relaxing at the spa, spending time by the lake or around a warm bonfire in the evening. There were also many festivals with so much fun organized in the surrounding villages and so many other experiences to discover!I also really loved the strong sense of community that could be felt there, thanks to the many activities organized in the house, the shared moments, and the meals cooked and eaten together in the large and well-equipped kitchen: I found an atmosphere that quickly made me feel like I was part of a family.I had such a great time at this place and I truly enjoyed every moment that I spent there among such beautiful people and landscapes: I definitely recommend going to discover this special place! ✨
