It is a modern form of communal living in which residents get a private bedroom in a furnished home with shared common areas. Unlike traditional apartments, coliving is attractive to tenants due to affordability, flexibility, included amenities, and a sense of community. It's one of the best and most direct means to achieve optimal density, affordable housing, and an urban community in the area. In the evening, there is nothing better than an after-work party (BBQ and other activites) in the garden of our property. It's a great time to network and have fun. We are the first coworking space in the southern region of Tunisia that brings together young entrepreneurs, freelancers, students, and creatives who find our space the best place to work daily and share their dreams, ambitions, and challenges. We are all about a vibrant community that is constantly expanding and diversifying. Since its launch, its mission has been to provide a place for local youth to develop projects and opportunities that contribute to world change.
In 2020, we gave birth to this coliving space, the first shared living space in Tunisia. A well-equipped housing space for those looking to work, live, and build connections in Djerba.

Djerba, as mentioned in Homer's Odyssey, is the land of the Lotus Eaters. It is a small island so attractive that Gustave Flaubert described: "This island covered with gold dust, greenery, and birds, where the lemon trees are as tall as cedars and where the air is so sweet that it prevents to die". Djerba is an island in southern Tunisia, with white sandy beaches and houses with whitewashed domes. The people of Djerba are culturally different from mainland Tunisians and retain many of their traditions and unique architecture.

Will I have privacy?Yes, you will. Your suite is your private area where you have your own bathroom, bedroom, living room, and kitchenette. You may share all this well-equiped suite with only one person.

Are pets allowed?Although we love all pets, we might have members with potential allergies, so, unfortunately, we can’t allow people to bring pets with them. We want to make sure everyone can be happy in their communal home.

Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?We do allow couples and friends to stay in our private apartments, ensuring there’s plenty of space for your needs and comfort.

Is there a designated space for work?You have plenty of flexible workspace options to suit your mood and your requirements for the day.

What types of people will I be sharing the home with?At our coliving, you will be sharing the space with like-minded people from all over the world. Will I get the same room as on the photos?The room you will be assigned might differ slightly from the photos but will match the room type. You are booking a room/bed by type, not a specific unit.

Can I tour the property first?You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:
- Properties on Coliving.com have pictures and a clear description of the community, rooms, and common areas. Most of them also have 3D or video tours.
- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.
- If the property substantially differ from what is advertiser, you report it to us and we will help you find another place. -
My booking has been accepted, now what?Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. They will help you settle in your room, show you around the space, and introduce you to the other community members. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.

What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?We look for open-minded, considerate individuals who are looking for an opportunity to share a beautiful home with other exciting people.

Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?You are allowed to check-in earlier if the room is ready. You may get in contact with us the day before you move in to coordinate.
If you wish to check out late, you are free to use our communal areas. -
Can I extend or shorten my stay?Yes, you can extend or shorten your stay as long as you communicate it to us ahead of time.

Do you accept co-signers?We gladly accept co-signers for applicants with limited credit history or income.

Is there a Credit Score required?We do not check your credit history. The main factors to be accepted into our community are honesty, transparency, and the purpose of your trip.

When/how will you refund my security deposit?Security deposits are typically returned within 8-10 business days after your stay ends. We will review your room for any excessive damage that would impact your security deposit return. Normal wear and tear are expected.

Can I cancel a booking?You can cancel free of charge as long as you have not paid. Once you have paid for your booking, the cancellation policy must be respected.

What if I don’t know exactly how long I want to stay?You may book a shorter stay first and then extend once you know more about your needs subject to availability.

What if the place is not as advertised?If the accommodation is not suitable, please contact the staff on arrival and they will do their best to find a mutually agreeable solution.

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?Guests are allowed in the visiting area but NOT in the bedrooms. Strictly no guests overnight.
Be aware that we can assume no liability for your guests or their possessions. -
Are kids allowed?As this is essentially a working environment, our facilities aren’t baby-proofed or child-friendly. Having kids around can be a major distraction for other colivers and you. So, it’s a no.

Are service and emotional support animals allowed?We do not accept pets.
By law, we allow service dogs. Our staff is allowed to ask two questions to determine what service the animal provides if it's not obvious:
1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
We define service animals as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs and pets whose sole function is only to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA, and will not be allowed.

Is it possible to request a change of room or apartment if I am not satisfied with the current one?Of course. If a room is released and you want to move in, you will have the opportunity to pay the rent difference. We may also charge an additional room cleaning fee.

Can I smoke inside? How about vaping?Smoking is strictly prohibited in any part of the building. That includes all private and communal rooms, hallways, balconies, etc. If you choose to smoke, make sure you dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Can I receive post/mail to the property?Yes. We will provide updated info once you have moved in.

What are the quiet hours?On the weekday, quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. on weekends. As with any shared housing scenario, the golden rule is to be respectful of others in your community and not wake them up or disturb them if they’re trying to have a quiet night.

What is the policy on alcohol?It’s your home, so feel free to enjoy a drink whenever you wish, so long as you are respectful of your housemates. If you want to party, make sure that you are not disturbing anyone in the coliving.

Are all rooms furnished?The common areas come fully furnished.
Bedrooms are furnished with everything essential.
You can add/remove any furniture (including the hanging of pictures) as long as the room is returned to its original condition at the end of your tenancy. -
Any meals/snacks included?No. But you have a kitchen that you can use anytime you want to prepare your food.
There are grocery stores nearby for your convenience. -
Are the private bedrooms cleaned frequently?Entire and deep cleaning is carried out every week, including linen and towel changes.
We would expect and appreciate it if you cleaned up after you made an excessive mess. -
What are the laundry options?Our laundry machines are available to everyone for a fee.

The taxi shuttle from the airport to the coliving costs around 20 TND, which is equivalent to $6.5-$7 USD. Taxis in Tunisian Dinars only accept cash. If you prefer a private shuttle, we can arrange car rental with a driver, but it will be much more expensive. Payments can be made in cash or by card. -
Can I book additional cleaning?Yes, we offer additional room cleaning on demand! Just let us know your needs, and our team will be happy to arrange it for you. We want to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Is there a kitchen where I can cook my own food?Yes, we have a great kitchen where you can cook your meals! We just ask that you clean up after yourself to keep the space nice for everyone. Enjoy your cooking.

Are my belongings safe?While we've been fortunate with our safety record, we encourage you to keep your valuables secure in your room. For extra peace of mind, you might also consider renters insurance to protect against any unforeseen incidents.

Does the building have security? What is done to make me feel safe?We take your safety very seriously. The last thing we want is to have a reputation for not being a safe place to stay. We screen both our staff and residents, provide 24-hour security, and CCTV cameras are usually installed.

How far is it to the nearest airport?You can take a taxi to Djerba Airport in just 25 minutes.

What is there to do in the area?You can enjoy horseback riding, water sports, kite surfing, tennis, and bowling. Take a tour of the island's famous Guellala pottery village or visit the El Ghriba synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in the world. The beach is only a 10-minute walk from our coliving space, where you can swim or relax in the sun. Plus, there are many restaurants and cafes nearby that offer delicious Tunisian cuisine.
