We are a creative co-living and co-working retreat just an hour from Helsinki, set in a historic sanatorium surrounded by forest. With private rooms and fast Wi-Fi, we offer a dedicated wing for digital nomads to live and work with ease. The rest of the space includes a makerspace, gym, climbing wall, sauna, and a vibrant artist and volunteer community. Set in a beautifully restored historic sanatorium across a sprawling 15,000 m² campus, digital nomads will find their ideal workspace and a dedicated co-working area in their wing. The space provides 24/7 access to a fully equipped work environment with fast Wi-Fi (200 Mbps). Beyond the primary co-working space, nomads can tap into additional coworking nooks throughout the building, which are shared with the wider community. The space offers multiple work zones, including in-room desks, a breakout meeting room, and private offices available at an additional cost. The on-site makerspace provides further creative opportunities with tools for traditional crafts, 3D printing, and electronics—perfect for professionals seeking inspiration and innovation.
Our property features a dedicated living wing for digital nomads, with private rooms on the second floor, fresh linens, and essential amenities. Guests share clean, gender-separated bathrooms, each with two showers. The fully equipped shared kitchen supports vegetarian cooking and reflects the property’s sustainability values. Comfortable lounges with sofas and TVs foster community, while digital nomads can also enjoy communal spaces throughout the building to connect with artists, volunteers, and our team.
Wellness and recreation are central to life here. Explore protected forests, swim in a nearby lake, climb indoors, hit the gym, or unwind in our weekly wood-fired sauna. A shared car is available for nearby adventures, and our on-site healing salon offers services like osteopathy, acupuncture, and massages.

We offer move-in ready rooms with a group of like-minded people from around the world who are looking to work hard and enjoy their downtime in nature by engaging in well-being-focused activities. Our thriving community on campus includes our volunteers, residents, and artists (about 30 people). Our typical residents are artists and digital nomads seeking to share experiences and benefit from a built-in community.

We are surrounded by nature, which is perfect for walks through the woods, swimming in the nearby lake, and, during winter, ice skating and cross-country skiing. Depending on the season, you can forage for berries in summer and mushrooms from summer to mid-autumn.
The nearest town is Karjaa (Karis), just 10 minutes away, where you can find shops, cafés, restaurants, banks, and more. In Finland, flea markets are important and very common; our favorites are Kaippari Loppis Kirppis, Sineaaria, and Karjaan Antikvariaatti. Pumpviksholmen is a lovely little park to visit if the weather is nice. Green Mama’s is a fantastic fully vegan restaurant for lunch or a coffee break, and they even organize events in the evenings sometimes.

Will I have privacy?Your bedroom is fully private for you. The rest of the spaces in the Digital Nomad Wing will be shared with the other nomads. This includes the kitchen, bathrooms (separated by gender), coworking space, living room and the lounge area. The rest of the campus has living and communal shared spaces with the larger community (residents, artists and volunteers).

Are pets allowed?Although we love all pets, we might have members with potential allergies, so, unfortunately, we can’t allow people to bring pets with them. We want to make sure everyone can be happy in their communal home.

Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?While our spaces are primarily designed for individuals, we encourage you to reach out to our team to discuss your specific situation. We love to help create arrangements that work for everyone!

Is there a designated space for work?Yes, there a desk/chair in every bedroom, a designated coworking space in the Nomad wing, and several coworking spaces/nooks around the campus that are shared with the full community.

What types of people will I be sharing the home with?The designated Digital Nomad Wing will be for other nomads (a maximum of 9) and the rest of the community (artists, residents and volunteers) live in separate wings in other parts of the main building.

Will I get the same room as on the photos?The room you will be assigned might differ slightly from the photos but will match the room type. You are booking a room/bed by type, not a specific unit.

Can I tour the property first?You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:
- Properties on Coliving.com have pictures and a clear description of the community, rooms, and common areas. Most of them also have 3D or video tours.
- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.

My booking has been accepted, now what?Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. They will help you settle in your room, show you around the space, and introduce you to the other community members. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.

Do I need to sign a contract/lease?Yes, we do ask our residents to sign a general agreement before arrival. This helps ensure that everyone is on the same page and contributes to a positive living experience

Is there a Credit Score required?We do not check your credit history. The main factors to be accepted into our community are honesty, transparency, and the purpose of your trip.

When/how will you refund my security deposit?We want to ensure a smooth check-out process for you. Your security deposit will be returned in cash after a walk-through with our Digital Nomad Manager. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Can I cancel a booking?You can cancel free of charge as long as you have not paid. Once you have paid for your booking, the cancellation policy must be respected.

What if I don’t know exactly how long I want to stay?You may book a shorter stay first and then extend once you know more about your needs subject to availability.

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?You are welcome to invite guests over during the day, as long as you are accompanying them. For overnight stays, please let us know if advance as there would be a small contribution for staying 1-2 nights and an additional charge if a separate private room is required.

Are kids allowed?Our space is designed for work and creativity, so it's best suited for adults. While we adore kids, our facilities aren’t set up for them. We appreciate your understanding in keeping our environment focused and productive.

Is it possible to request a change of room or apartment if I am not satisfied with the current one?Absolutely! If another room or apartment becomes available that better suits your needs, just let us know and we'll gladly help you explore your options.

Can I smoke inside? How about vaping?To keep our environment clean and healthy, we ask that you refrain from smoking indoors, including private rooms, common areas, hallways, and balconies. If you do wish to smoke, please do so outside, away from the building entrance, and kindly dispose of your cigarette butts properly. Thank you for helping us maintain a pleasant space for everyone!

Can I receive post/mail to the property?Yes, absolutely! Once you move in, we'll share all the updated details—including your new mailing address—so you can receive your mail hassle-free.

What are the quiet hours?On weekdays, quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am and 12 am to 9 am on weekends. As with any shared housing scenario, the golden rule is to be respectful of others in your community and not wake them up or disturb them if they’re trying to have a quiet night.

What is the policy on alcohol?The consumption of alcohol is permitted on the property, but we kindly ask that it be in moderation and with respect for other guests.

What potential costs are there besides the rent?Besides rent, there may be extra fees for utilities like heating and electricity, depending on usage. Are all rooms furnished?Our common areas are fully furnished to welcome you right away, and each bedroom comes equipped with all the essentials for comfortable living include a bed, desk/chair, a seating chair and 1-2 built-in closets.

Any meals/snacks included?Meals and snacks aren’t included, but you'll have full access to a well-equipped kitchen for preparing your favorite dishes at any time. Plus, with grocery stores in town, everything you need is within reach.

Are the private bedrooms cleaned frequently?We encourage our residents to keep their private bedrooms tidy, and we provide cleaning products to help with that. And we will handle the cleaning of the common areas to ensure everything stays fresh and welcoming!

Do you host groups/retreats?Absolutely! We love hosting wellbeing groups and retreats from Helsinki and southern Finland. Our spaces on the ground and 5th floor are perfect for gatherings, and guests can enjoy separate quarters for a comfortable weekend stay.

How many people will be living here during my stay?The Digital Nomad Wing can accommodate up to 9 residents. The greater campus is home to 30 people from all over the world who are part of our artist residency program, our volunteers and our full-time residents who keep the place running.

Is the neighborhood safe?Our coliving home is in a perfectly safe area, as we are in the middle of a forest! The nearest town is about 10 minutes away from car and there are some houses inbetween. The surrounding area (and Finland has a whole) is very safe overall.
