The coliving space is a large, bright, and contemporary villa on the hill above the Supertubes surf spot. It enjoys sweeping views across the ocean to the mountains and is just a 2-minute walk to the beach and waves. Here you will find a community of people who are staying for a while and who need to do great work.

These people also appreciate incorporating the ocean & surfing into their daily routine. The villa has been designed & decorated by young local artists. It's not shiny, modern, or pretentious... but it is tastefully filled with furniture, pictures, and plants that we have collected over time and cherish. The villa caters to a maximum of twelve people in six bedrooms (all en-suite). There are generous living and working areas over multiple levels that allow people to find their own space while still being together.

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT:

- Longer stays and slower travel. Stay for a while. Give yourself enough time to get into the slightly slower rhythm. Our minimum booking is 14 nights.
- Integrating the ocean into your daily routine. The house is well situated to incorporate the ocean into your every day, be it through dips, surfing, or a leisurely beach walk amongst the shells.
- A productive environment. The house is designed primarily to allow residents to work during their stay. Residents also enjoy free access to the coworking space.
- Vegetarianism. We live by a vegetarian philosophy and have veggie food in the house, no meat. We also have a thriving little organic communal veggie garden, help yourself!
- Low-impact living. Minimising our environmental footprint is central to everything we do in the house. We continually try to improve this.
- Opportunities to share. We facilitate ways to share your time, experiences, and talents with the local community.

WHAT WE ARE NOT ABOUT:

- Not a "party house". Jeffreys Bay has little nightlife. Many evenings are spent at the house, at one of the few restaurants, or small cosy events around town.
- No hidden costs. The price you’re quoted when booking covers all amenities at the house & cowork during your stay.
- We’re a home, not a guesthouse. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after themselves. We refresh the rooms once a week and keep the communal areas tidy.
- Staying alone. Many of the activities in town are more fun when enjoyed in a group. We encourage a sense of community and connection among residents.
- It's a moment, not forever. There is a maximum stay in the house of 3 months.

About Wavecrest

Our Coliving is located in the Wavecrest neighbourhood. Wavecrest is home to all the well-known surfspots in Jeffreys Bay. There is an easy 2-minute pathway to get to the beach. Within a 5-minute walk of the villa, there is a small shopping center with a grocery store, laundromat, clinic, and popular restaurant filled with surf nostalgia.

The coworking space is 3 km away (5 min drive/taxi; 15 min cycle; 30 min walk). Coworking access is included in your accommodation. You can choose if you prefer to work in the coworking space, the coliving space, or both! We provide bicycles to get around town, and this is included in the cost of your accommodation.

It is entirely up to you how communally you want to work and live.

You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:

- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.

Yes! There is a dedicated workspace in the house with a beautiful view of the ocean. Each room is also equipped with its own desk. Residents also enjoy free access to the Green Room coworking space, a 10-15min bike ride away.

Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. They will help you settle in your room, show you around the space, and introduce you to the other community members. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.

If the accommodation is not suitable, please contact the staff on arrival and they will do their best to find a mutually agreeable solution.
