We understand the importance of living with loved ones! However, our policy is one person per bed and rent is charged per person. This helps maintain individual space and ensures comfort for everyone in our community.

Booking

What information do I need to supply for the application?

To join our community, you'll need to provide a valid government-issued photo ID during check-in. This helps us ensure everyone's safety and keep everything running smoothly. We're excited to welcome you!

What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?

At Ostel, we like to keep things simple and welcoming. We look at a few factors, such as employment and steady income, but just as important is how someone will fit into our community vibe. We love bringing together people from different backgrounds, and our goal is to keep Ostel as diverse, respectful, and friendly as possible.

Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?

Absolutely! Early arrivals or late stays are possible with management approval. Please don’t assume—just ask, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. We understand life is always changing, and we try to be as flexible as possible.

Policies

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?

No. To keep everyone’s space safe and comfortable, we have a strict no-guest policy inside the living areas. As rooms are shared, we cannot allow guests to enter for the safety of personal belongings like laptops, money, or clothes.

However, guests are welcome in our outdoor common lounge areas. Please note that they are not permitted to use the restrooms in the living areas, as we are not a public restroom. This policy helps maintain a secure, comfortable, and respectful environment for all residents while still being able to socialize.

What is the policy on alcohol?

Alcohol is not permitted inside any of the houses or bedrooms. Drinking is allowed outdoors only, which helps prevent property damage and encourages responsible consumption. We ask all residents to be considerate of others while enjoying outdoor spaces. Our goal is to maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Amenities

What potential costs are there besides the rent?

The main additional cost is a one-time, reservation fee to secure your spot. Utilities such as Wi-Fi, water, and electricity are included, so there are no hidden fees. Optional costs, like laundry, are up to you. Please note that violations of house rules may incur penalties, so we encourage all residents to follow the guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful community.

Are all rooms furnished?

Yes! All our rooms come with a bed frame and mattress. Some rooms may also include additional furniture like desks, chairs, or small storage pieces. Please note that personal essentials such as soap, shampoo, towels, bedding, and pillows are not provided, so be sure to bring your own!

Any meals/snacks included?

While we don’t include meals or snacks, you'll have full access to a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own meals at any time. Just remember to be respectful of others' cookware and dishes. Kitchen cookware and dinnerware—plates, bowls, cups, pots, pans, and utensils—are not provided, and the items currently in the kitchen belong to other residents. There are plenty of grocery options nearby to help you stock up on your favorites. Enjoy cooking and sharing meals with your fellow residents!

Depending on group size and availability, we do our very best to accommodate groups or retreats. Please reach out in advance so we can help plan a comfortable and enjoyable stay for everyone.

Yes! Our community manager helps maintain a positive atmosphere in the house and looks after the well-being of all residents. They are on-site at various times to ensure a comfortable and supportive living environment.

Are my belongings safe?

While we've been fortunate with our safety record, we encourage you to keep your valuables secure in your room. For extra peace of mind, you might also consider renters insurance to protect against any unforeseen incidents.

Can I lock my bedroom door?

Yes! All doors at Ostel are electronic—no keys needed. Each guest receives their own personal front door code as well as a unique code for their bedroom. All doors automatically lock within seconds after entry or exit, and codes are never shared between roommates, providing enhanced security and peace of mind for everyone in shared rooms.
