We are uniquely situated above Kajaani's most iconic attraction, the Kajaani Castle Ruins, the northernmost stone castle in the world. Built in the 17th century in a remote wilderness on the kingdom's eastern border, the castle tells tales of resilience against the elements and invaders. You can hear the calls of swans on the Linnanvirta river and immerse yourself in the historical ambiance, all while enjoying the vibrant pulse of the town center.
Nature enthusiasts will delight in the proximity of Pöllyvaara Hiking Trails, just a 5-minute walk from our property. These trails offer a 5-kilometer hiking route and a 3-kilometer fitness path, featuring old pine forests and varied terrain. The spruce forest area may have rooty paths, but it adds to the charm. Two lean-tos, maintained by the village association, are perfect spots for a rest. Mountain biking is also allowed on these trails.
For travelers, Our property is conveniently located along the main road, Paltaniementie, offering an 8-minute drive to Kajaani Airport. The airport provides direct flights to Helsinki, and in the upcoming winter, a new route to Düsseldorf will make travel to Germany effortless. The Kajaani Train Station is only a 5-minute drive from the property.
