We are uniquely situated above Kajaani's most iconic attraction, the Kajaani Castle Ruins, the northernmost stone castle in the world. Built in the 17th century in a remote wilderness on the kingdom's eastern border, the castle tells tales of resilience against the elements and invaders. You can hear the calls of swans on the Linnanvirta river and immerse yourself in the historical ambiance, all while enjoying the vibrant pulse of the town center.

Nature enthusiasts will delight in the proximity of Pöllyvaara Hiking Trails, just a 5-minute walk from our property.   • Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home.   • You are allowed to move in earlier if the room is ready. You may get in contact with us the day before you move in to coordinate.
    If you wish to move out late, you are free to use our communal areas.
  • The minimum booking period is 1 month. If you wish to shorten your stay, a one-month notice period is required. If the notice period is not provided, one month's rent will be deducted from your deposit as a penalty. You can extend your stay subject to room availability. Please reach out to us to check on extension possibilities.
  • We do not check your credit history. The main factors to be accepted into our community are honesty, transparency, and the purpose of your trip.
  • Security deposit is typically returned shortly after your stay ends. We will review your room for any excessive damage that would impact your security deposit return. Normal wear and tear are expected.
  • You can cancel free of charge as long as you have not paid. Once you have paid for your booking, the cancellation policy must be respected.
  • You may book a shorter stay first and then extend once you know more about your needs subject to availability.
  • If the accommodation is not suitable, please contact the staff on arrival and they will do their best to find a mutually agreeable solution.

  • For long-term rentals (over 3 months), tenants are allowed to host a visitor in their room for a maximum of one week. Short-term rentals are not permitted to have extra visitors sleeping over.

  • Of course. If a room is released and you want to move in, you will have the opportunity to pay the rent difference. We may also charge an additional room cleaning fee.
  • To keep our environment clean and healthy, we ask that you refrain from smoking indoors, including private rooms, common areas, hallways, and balconies. If you do wish to smoke, please do so outside, away from the building entrance, and kindly dispose of your cigarette butts properly. Thank you for helping us maintain a pleasant space for everyone!
  • Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am daily. As with any shared housing scenario, the golden rule is to be respectful of others in your community and not wake them up or disturb them if they’re trying to have a quiet night.
  • It’s your home, so feel free to enjoy a drink whenever you wish, so long as you are respectful of your housemates. If you want to party, make sure you do that away from the property.
