Living at this coliving is much more than just a room and a desk with good internet. Here, you'll find a shared space that promotes balance between work, rest, learning, and meaningful connections. We welcome you into our family, where self-regeneration and sustainable living are our purpose.
We're connected with the local community, and we organize various activities, whether for adventure or to relax. We offer yoga classes, climbing gear, and hiking in the Serra do Sicó, and we have bikes available!
You can stay in a private room or in a shared dorm. Our bathrooms are shared, as well as the kitchen. Colivers have the choice to cook for themselves or through a community system (each person cooks at a time for everyone).
For remote working, you can enjoy the coworking spaces we offer (indoors and outdoors), and if you need privacy, there are desks in each bedroom. Furthermore, we also offer access to a private coworking room in the center of one of the nearest towns (Soure). Every space mentioned has WIFI access.
You can bring your own car (we have free parking spots!), come by public transport (train and/or bus), or take a taxi.

About Venda Nova
The Venda Nova neighborhood is a rural residential area, surrounded by trees and hiking paths. It has occasional weekday buses.
The nearest cafe is a 5-minute drive or a 12-minute bike ride (they are remote work friendly!) and has delicious traditional Portuguese pastry.
The nearest towns are:
- Redinha, a 7-minute drive or a 15-minute bike ride, which has minimarkets, local cafes, a pharmacy, a spring with a public river pool, a horse riding association and a climbing mountain;
- Soure is a 20-minute drive and has supermarkets (too many!), a park (to exercise, relax, or barbecue!), cafes, a library, pharmacies, hairdressers, etc. We also have access to an exclusive free room at a Social Innovation Centre to use as a coworking space!
There is a small, lovely market every Monday morning, if you'd like to buy some fresh vegetables and meet local producers!

Yes, we welcome pets with a few guidelines! We have two lovely cats, along with ducks and chickens, so if your pet can get along with other animals, it should be fine. We ask that pets are kept in your room when indoors and supervised on a leash outside. Please note, only two rooms can accommodate pets, so availability is key. We look forward to welcoming you and your furry friend!

Yes, we have indoor and outdoor co-working spaces, with WIFI access and power strips. We also provide free access to a coworking space in the nearby Soure village centre.
Quinta da Carvalheira is accepting guests regardless of their gender, nationality and sexual orientation. We only accept people older than 18 years old. We also foster a sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle through a vegetarian diet, values that our guests agree to before booking.
Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. They will help you settle in your room, show you around the space, and introduce you to the other community members. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.

We ensure that all our rooms are furnished with comfortable beds, storage spaces, cosy desks with chairs, and beautiful floor tapestries to make your stay enjoyable and welcoming.
While we don't provide meals, we encourage our colivers to cook together and share delicious recipes! You can contribute to group meals by pitching in for ingredients, or feel free to whip up something for yourself with your own groceries.
We believe in a collaborative living approach, so while maintenance of your private bedroom is your responsibility, we do provide cleaning supplies for your convenience. When you arrive, your room will be ready for you to settle in, and we kindly ask that you leave it as you found it. We're excited to have you as part of our community!

Yes, just be aware to leave the communal areas free of private stuff since they might be used for other activities (for example, meals).
We ask that colivers leave their towels and sheets in the laundry room when they move out and encourage them to leave their room the way they found it on arrival.
Each room has storage space, such as drawers or hangers for your clothes. For your luggage, we encourage colivers to leave it under the bed where there's space. If this is still not enough, just speak with us and we will work together to find a solution!
Yes. We believe in a collaborative living approach, so each week (usually Fridays) we organise ourselves to spend one hour cleaning and organising the communal areas. Therefore, we encourage colivers to join us. Regular maintenance is also kept by the team or anyone who feels like collaborating.
There is a coworking room, an activities room, two kitchens, outdoor and indoor dining areas, a laundry room, an outdoor annexe free to use for activities (with and without a rooftop) and a vegetable garden. The property also extends to some forest areas.
Absolutely! We love hosting groups and retreats. Our space is perfect for workshops and activities, whether they are related to our coliving community or other interests. We’ve had a variety of events and would be thrilled to help you plan yours.
Our wonderful place can accommodate up to 15 people at a time! You'll find that the number of guests tends to increase during late Spring and Summer as everyone loves to enjoy the warm weather. We also have a friendly team that ranges from 3 to 5 members to help make your stay wonderful and help with other current events.
Yes, we have a dedicated community manager, Inês, who helps oversee everything. However, we believe in teamwork, so other members also share some responsibilities to ensure everything runs smoothly even when she's not around!
We are nationality-friendly, so we tend to have many people from around the world., besides Portuguese people. Recently, Quinta has hosted people from Spain, France, England, Brazil and even Chile!
Since we opened our coliving space recently, and we have hosted retreats and workshops more often than colivers at the Quinta, there's an average stay of 5 to 7 days.
Your belongings will be safe with us! Our community is located in a secure and peaceful village. We also provide lockers in the dorms for extra peace of mind. If it helps you feel even more secure, we encourage our colivers to bring luggage with locks.
Yes, you can lock your bedroom door for privacy while you’re inside. However, please note that the locks work only from the inside, ensuring your personal space while allowing for communal trust.
Our building prioritises your safety! While we currently have locks on the front gate and main doors for security, we are continually exploring ways to improve our safety measures. We want you to feel comfortable and secure in our community.
Yes, very safe. We have continuous contact with our neighbours, especially the ones living next door. We help each other and share meals together sometimes. They are familiar with Quinta's projects and its people!
You can find local buses (SITRC, lines 104 and 119), ask for a Taxi or even come with an Uber from cities of Coimbra or Pombal. We also provide bikes, in case you would like to visit the sorrounding villages.
The nearest airport is a bit of a drive away (1 hour and 40 minutes), but we are happy to help with transportation options or directions if you need them!
You can enjoy nature with some hiking paths nearby (either near the Quinta, or in Serra do Sicó), or by visiting Soure's park and enjoying doing exercise or barbecue there. There are also free climbing spots, both in Redinha (a mountain wall) and in Soure (a climbing gym).
