Announcement Date: Every end of January of the next calendar year
Criteria
A host must achieve at least 66% overall score based on the Host Quality Score, with the following minimum thresholds per category:
Basis
- Based on last year's performance (Jan–Dec)
- Host account must be active with published listings
Attributes (Minimum 12% of 15%)
- Must have a complete and well-structured listing.
- Must have a payout method added.
- Must have at least two social media channels linked.
- Bonus consideration for multi-country presence.
Bookings (Minimum 18% of 25%)
- Must have a commission type set.
- Must have a commission percentage of at least 5% (preferably 10% for full points).
- Instant booking enabled is preferred but not mandatory.
Listings (Minimum 12% of 15%)
- Must have active listings (full points for 10+).
- Must have Channel Manager or iCals set up.
Performance (Minimum 24% of 30%)
- Must have consistent revenue from paid bookings in the last 30 days.
- Must have at least 50% accepted bookings.
- Must maintain a fast response time and high response percentage.
Reviews & Ratings (Minimum 12% of 15%)
- Must have a high average rating (preferably above 4.5).
- Must have multiple guest reviews to demonstrate credibility.
Possible Barriers to Host Improvement
❌ Multi-Country & Multi-City Requirements Might Discourage Smaller Hosts: Since these factors are harder to change, hosts who don't qualify may feel limited rather than motivated. If expanding across multiple cities or countries is a priority, consider offering incentives instead of deductions.
❌ Payment Method & Commission Percent: These are determined by our system, meaning hosts have no control over adjustments. Since commission levels are fixed, hosts may not see a direct way to improve their score in this area.
❌ Instant Booking: While available, it is not actively encouraged. Hosts who prefer manual booking approvals might feel penalized, so consider adjusting its impact on the overall score.
Recommendation
These metrics should be accessible from host accounts so they are aware they are being measured.
