Definitely. Each private room has a desk for focused work, and there are several coworking areas around the villa — indoors and outdoors — with high-speed Wi-Fi.

You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:
- Properties on Coliving.com have pictures and a clear description of the community, rooms, and common areas. Most of them also have 3D or video tours.
- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.

What information do I need to supply for the application?

Just your basic details — name, contact, ID or passport, and your intended dates. We like to know a little about your background and what brings you to Surf & Zen.

What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?

We look for positive, respectful people who value community, balance, and mindful living. We’re not just a place to sleep — we’re a shared experience.

Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?

We’ll do our best to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs depending on availability.

Can I extend or shorten my stay?

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?

Yes, you’re welcome to invite friends over during the day to share a coffee, a coworking session, or a sunset chat by the garden. We simply ask that you keep the atmosphere peaceful and respect the comfort of others staying here.
Overnight visitors are generally not allowed unless previously discussed with the management. Our goal is to maintain a calm, safe environment for everyone — one where connection thrives but privacy is protected.

What is the policy on alcohol?

Surf & Zen is all about balance — enjoy life, but stay mindful. Moderate alcohol consumption is allowed in common areas, as long as it’s done respectfully and doesn’t disturb others.
We love spontaneous gatherings and sunset drinks, but we’re not a party hostel. Think of it as a place where good wine, great conversation, and ocean breezes come together in harmony. 🍷🌴

Your rent covers all essentials — utilities, Wi-Fi, coworking access, and shared space maintenance.
The only extras depend on your lifestyle: airport transfers, scooter rentals, optional yoga or surf classes, and additional housekeeping if you’d like.
We’re upfront about everything — no hidden costs, no surprise fees. You’ll always know exactly what you’re paying for. Transparency is part of our zen.

Are all rooms furnished?

Yes. Each private room at Surf & Zen is fully furnished with everything you need to feel comfortable and focused — a cozy bed, wardrobe or storage, desk, and fan or air conditioning. The design blends modern minimalism with tropical charm, using natural textures and calming tones. We want you to have a space that feels both inspiring and restful — ideal for work, reflection, or a lazy afternoon nap after surfing.

Any meals/snacks included?

Depending on your booking type, a light breakfast may be included — think tropical fruits, local tea, and a taste of Sri Lankan hospitality. There’s also a communal kitchen where you can cook your own meals, share recipes with other residents, or organize group dinners. Within walking distance, you’ll find cozy cafes, local restaurants, and beachfront bars that cater to every taste, from healthy smoothie bowls to authentic rice and curry.

How many people will be living here during my stay?

The number of residents varies depending on the season — typically between 8 and 12 like-minded nomads, remote workers, and creatives.

Is there a house/community manager?

Yes. Our community manager is here to make your stay smooth — from check-in to local tips and organizing weekly events.

How far is it to the nearest airport?

Koggala Airport is just a short 10-minute drive away — perfect if you’re arriving from within Sri Lanka.
For international flights, Colombo International Airport is about 2 to 2.5 hours away by car. The drive is beautiful, winding along the coast — and if you prefer not to deal with logistics, we can organize a comfortable transfer straight to Surf & Zen’s doorstep.
