Yes! You’ll have your own private room, and each room comes with a lock on the door for your comfort and security.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our coliving space. We understand this can be a disappointment for pet lovers, and we appreciate your understanding!

Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?

Yes, couples and friends are welcome to stay in our rooms. However, please note that the payment must be made as a single booking and cannot be split between multiple guests.

What types of people will I be sharing the home with?

You’ll be sharing the space with a mix of remote workers, entrepreneurs, creatives, and travelers from around the world, including local Japanese residents. Everyone is open-minded and enjoys connecting with others.

Can I tour the property first?

You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:
- Properties on Coliving.com have pictures and a clear description of the community, rooms, and common areas. Most of them also have 3D or video tours.
- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.

What information do I need to supply for the application?

We're excited you're interested in joining our community! To apply, we simply ask for your basic information such as your name, contact details, and intended stay dates through an application form. We look forward to welcoming you!

What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?

We welcome people who value respect, openness, and community. There are no strict requirements. We just look for guests who align with The Pier’s atmosphere of calm, creativity, and connection.

Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?

Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on the time. Please contact us in advance to confirm, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Policies

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?

Daytime visitors are welcome in the shared areas with prior notice.
However, overnight stays are limited to registered guests only, to ensure the comfort and safety of all residents.

What is the policy on alcohol?

Moderate alcohol consumption is allowed in private rooms and common areas, as long as it is done respectfully.
We ask all residents to be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum, especially at night.

What potential costs are there besides the rent?

We suggest considering renters insurance to help protect your belongings. While your rent covers your living space, everyday expenses like food, transportation, and personal items remain your responsibility.

Are all rooms furnished?

Our common areas are fully furnished to welcome you right away, and each bedroom comes equipped with all the essentials for comfortable living. Feel free to personalize your room—add or remove furniture (even hang up your favorite pictures)—as long as it’s set back the way you found it when you leave.

Any meals/snacks included?

Meals are not included. However, a shared kitchen and nearby restaurants allow guests to enjoy both cooking and local dining options!

Yes. The community manager is responsible for maintaining a good atmosphere in the house and the well-being of the members.

We welcome people from all over the world! Our community is diverse, with residents from various backgrounds and cultures, creating a vibrant and inclusive living experience.

What is the average length of stay?

Most guests stay from one month, though some choose to extend for several months to enjoy the slower island lifestyle！

Are my belongings safe?

Yes. The Pier is located in a very peaceful area, and all private rooms can be locked. We also ask residents to respect each other’s belongings.

Can I lock my bedroom door?

Yes! each private room has a lock for your comfort and privacy.

Is the neighborhood safe?

Our coliving home is in a perfectly safe neighborhood. Bukeyashiki is one of the safest and quietest areas on Fukue Island, known for its friendly locals and calm streets, even at night.
