Elmhurst is one of the most unique neighborhoods in New York City. Elmhurst has all from multifamily homes, and co-op and apartment buildings. Immigrants, especially from Asia and Latin America, have made Elmhurst one of the most diverse parts of Queens. Take a stroll along Elmhurst, there are a variety of small shops and restaurants along prosperous Woodside Avenue, near Elmhurst Hospital Center. One of the most highly recommended establishments is the Vietnamese restaurant called Joju. Joju Bowl, the recommended dish at this place, is a sandwich deconstructed into rice bowl form. However, the most famous is still the original sandwich. The classic Caramel Pork Banh Mi is also a go-to. If you like some Thai cuisine, try Lamoon. The mango salad with eggs with the tanginess of the vinegar and spiciness of the peppers is the go-to. Another recommendation is the Khao Soi with chicken which is the creamy coconut-based curry. The noodles in the sauce, topped with the same noodles deep fried is divine. Another signature dish is the Kang Hung Lay, the Thai style pork belly stew which is super tender and savory, ginger and soy in the broth along with a number of other spices.
