Aside from being one of the most diverse neighborhoods, Elmhurst has the most subway options in Queens outside of Long Island City. There’s the 7 train that runs locally above Roosevelt Avenue, the express E and F at Broadway/74th Street, and the R, V trains that run locally down Broadway and out along Queens Boulevard. From Elmhurst, it takes around half an hour to reach Midtown. There’s easy access to Brooklyn Queens Expressway and the Long Island Expressway. The lines of ethnic restaurants in the area reflect the variety of the neighborhood. Our recommendation is Arepa Lady Jackson. You might want to get the guacamole with patacones, which is a starchier alternative to chips.
