Trastevere is a place where ancient charm meets modern vibrancy. Its narrow, cobblestone streets, flanked by medieval houses, transport you back in time while immersing you in the lively energy of the present. By day, the neighborhood exudes a quaint, timeless atmosphere, and by night, it transforms into a bustling hub where locals and visitors flock to its many bars and restaurants.
This unique vibe has long attracted artists, ex-pats, and even notable figures. In the 1960s and 70s, American composers Frederic Rzewski and Richard Teitelbaum, pioneers of Musica Elettronica Viva, called Via Della Luce home. Legendary filmmaker Sergio Leone, famous for his Spaghetti Westerns, grew up on Viale Glorioso, where a marble plaque commemorates his life. Even Ennio Morricone, the iconic film composer, once attended school alongside Leone in this very neighborhood.
