Our coliving properties offer beautiful heritage home living in downtown Toronto. Conveniently located steps from the TTC subway or streetcars, you'll find a fully furnished, well-appointed bedroom waiting for you in your home-away-from-home.

Our guests don’t just choose our coliving for our attention to detail or value for money; they intentionally select our properties for a supportive, safe environment to reclaim their authentic selves. It’s a space where we can cheer each other on as we work on our goals, whether that includes touring the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) or working in the Communal Container Garden. Our properties are more than just living spaces; they’re family-style homes brimming with warmth and care. All guests become members of our coliving family and co-create the family-oriented experience together, sharing small chores like sweeping the stairs to maintain our homemade community experience. All stays at our properties are membership-based. Additionally, our members have opportunities to enhance their interpersonal and leadership skills by organizing and leading events. Each private bedroom comes with a door lock, and you can use the "Quiet" sign to minimize noise in common areas.
Our kitchens are fully equipped with everything you need for daily living, from dishes to cooking utensils and appliances like a microwave, stove, oven, air fryer, and more. Laundry facilities with complimentary ironing amenities are available onsite.
Common areas in each house offer spaces for various activities, from board games to art sessions. Multiple bathrooms, tea/coffee bars, and a library corner provide comfort and relaxation. We even have outdoor spaces for urban enjoyment, including designated smoking areas.
Quiet hours are observed Sunday through Thursday from 10 pm to 9 am, and Friday and Saturday from midnight to 9 am.

Our 12 bedroom/6 bathroom heritage house is a unique Coliving concept created by the community for the community. If you choose to join us, you would become a co-creator and member of our coliving family!

All guests will be given small chores. Sharing the load helps us maintain a homemade community experience for our multicultural, multigenerational guests including keeping the common spaces tidy and clean, and by joining the other Coliving guests at our community events or inviting them for a coffee or tea.

We also give our house members the opportunity to practice their interpersonal communication and leadership skills through leadership roles such as organizing and chairing events.

Our "art of intentional living" experience has benefited those seeking a cultural immersion experience -- newcomers to Toronto, digital nomads, mature students, active retired, couples, solo travellers, working professionals and those in a life-stage transition.

My booking has been accepted, now what?

Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.

Are pets allowed?

Although we love all pets, we might have members with potential allergies, so, unfortunately, we can’t allow people to bring pets or service animals with them. We want to make sure everyone can be comfortable in their communal home.

Will I have privacy?

All house members have a fully furnished well-appointed bedroom in our Coliving home for more privacy. House members are to share the furnished common areas respectfully.

Can I split the rent with my partner or a friend?

We do allow couples and friends to stay in our bigger rooms, ensuring there’s plenty of space for your needs and comfort.

Is there a designated space for work?

All guests have plenty of flexible workspace options to suit your mood and your requirements for the day.

What types of people will I be sharing the home with?

Our properties are judgement-free spaces for like-minded individuals that celebrate diversity, where generations feel valued, respected and welcomed. We are much more than a place to stay; we provide a platform for curiosity, conversation, personal growth and community.

Not just shared housing, our guests intentionally choose to live at our Coliving to meet and interact with others. Can I tour the property first?

You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:
- Properties on Coliving.com have pictures and a clear description of the community, rooms, and common areas. Most of them also have 3D or video tours.
- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.
- If the property substantially differ from what is advertiser, you report it to us and we will help you find another place.

What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters?

We look for open-minded, considerate individuals who are looking for an opportunity to share a beautiful home with other exciting people, sharing in maintaining the operations of the home, as well as contributing their skills and interests with the community.

Is it possible to arrive before the designated move-in time or stay past the move-out time?

You are allowed to move in earlier if the room is ready. You may get in contact with us the day before you move in to coordinate.
If you wish to move out late, you are free to use our communal areas but we request that you remove your personal items by 11am on check-out day.

Can I extend or shorten my stay?

We are happy when house members feel comfortable enough to want to extend their stay. Just let Alisa know and she will discuss options with you.
We also understand that sometimes life happens and your stay must been shortened. Please discuss with Alisa.

Policies

Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?

We love welcoming friends to experience our community! You can invite guests to our events or have casual visits, just keep our quiet hours in mind. For everyone’s safety, please register your guests upon arrival. If you want more than one guest or need overnight stays, just reach out to management! Remember to secure your personal belongings during visits. We can’t wait to see you and your friends!

What is the policy on alcohol?

It's your home too, so feel free to enjoy a drink whenever you wish, so long as you are respectful of your housemates who avoid alcohol for any reason. If you want to party loud and proud, there are plenty of local bars around the neighbourhood.

Amenities

What potential costs are there besides the rent?

The usual cost of your food, possessions, transit, etc., is your own.
Storage lockers, room cleaning, mini fridge rental, and parking, if available, are additional costs.

Are all rooms furnished?

The common areas come fully furnished.
Bedrooms are furnished with everything essential.
Please do not remove any furniture. Moving furniture is permitted as long as the room is returned to its original layout at the end of your stay.

What are the laundry options?

We have laundry machines available to everyone. It's $2 CAD to wash and $2 CAD to dry, payable into the glass jar, and based on the honor system

Can I get picked up/dropped off at the airport?

Yes we can. Based on availability.

How many people will be living here during my stay?

Most rooms can accommodate two guests but usually there's 8-10 Coliving house members staying here.

What are the nationalities of the other residents?

We welcome people from everywhere, but mostly have people from Europe, Asia, South Asia and Canada.

What is the average length of stay?

Are my belongings safe?

While we've been fortunate with our safety record, we encourage you to keep your valuables secure in your room. For extra peace of mind, you might also consider renters insurance to protect against any unforeseen incidents.

Can I lock my bedroom door?

Yes, your bedroom door is lockable from both the inside and outside of the room.

Does the building have security? What is done to make me feel safe?

We take safety very seriously. The last thing we want is to have a reputation for not being a safe place to stay. We screen both our staff and prospective house members, and exterior video cameras are installed. Plus, you have people in the house practically 24 hours a day.

Are there any good restaurants nearby?

With just a few minute's walk on Dupont or down to Bloor Street, you have a selection of good and cheap restaurants.

What public transportation is available?

It's a couple minutes' walk to the Dupont TTC subway station. In addition, there is a BikeShareTO kiosk a couple of blocks south on Huron.

How far is it to the nearest airport?

You can take an Uber to Toronto Pearson International Airport in just 30 minutes. You can also take public transit, which will take approx. one hour.
