Tarifa is a unique coliving option, especially for those nomads who love both the Mediterranean and the African countries. Standing out for its curving white covered pathways, and North African vibe, you could be excused for thinking you were on the other continent, and not in Andalucía.
Due to its ideal location, Tarifa has become a hub for water sports activities, most well known as the kite surfing capital of Europe. Which is all thanks to two strong winds that cross one another. Windsurfing is also popular, but if you feel like taking a more relaxing trip on the water, then you will be enthralled by the whale spotting, which takes place in the Strait of Gibraltar. Prime whale watching season is between April and October, so a coliving stay around this time guarantees a lot of sightings. In particular, you may see large schools of fin, sperm, and killer (orca) whales. Free Willy eat your heart out.
Tarifa becomes busiest during the August months due to the optimum weather and activities, so if you’re looking to visit as a digital nomad, later in September may be a better choice. Especially as you will be able to partake in the annual Feria, which is almost like a goodbye celebration to the busy season.
Make sure to use the bus system to navigate your way around. Especially when visiting the numerous sites, including the Guzman Castle, and the beaches; Playa de Los Lances and Playa de Valdevaqueros. There are also two natural parks nearby, which are great for hiking all year through. Even though it’s a bit pricier than most coliving destinations, for water sports lovers, Tarifa is an ideal place to get work done, whilst enjoying the most out of life.
