Cycling is a big deal in Liege - it’s the only city to have hosted stages of all three cycling Grand Tours: the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a España. The city’s most famous festival celebrating the Virgin Mary is called Le Quinze Aout - literally meaning “August 15,” the event is full of live performances, a flea market, and games. Climb the Montagne de Beuren, ranked as one of the world’s most extreme staircases - it’s great exercise and the panoramic view of the city from the top is worth it.
