Barrio del Carmen
El Barrio del Carmen is named after the church and the convent of Carmen Calzado. Although the offer of restaurant and locations is untouchable, this neighborhood is much more than that.
We are talking about an area of Ciutat Vella with a thousand years of history and with magnificent examples of medieval architecture, a rich artistic heritage, hundreds of historical anecdotes and the origin of a good number of local legends.
The neighborhood preserves several of the city’s best museums and some architectural jewels. It is the case of the known Portal of the Valldigna, ancient entrance to the morrow where the Muslims remained concentrated after the taking of the city by the Conqueror.
The Church of St. Nicholas of Bari and St. Peter the Martyr has become an essential part of Valencia since its impressive wall paintings on the boulevard, considered as the Valencian Sixtine Chapel, were recovered.
The ancient Convento del Carmen, the etimological origin of the name of the neighborhood, has been transformed into the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània, a modern museum centre. The prestigious Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM).
The Beneficence, with its magnificent collections of ethnography and prehistory, completes the trio of large exhibition centers.
Did you know that the Holy Grail is in the Cathedral of Valencia? It also houses one of the most important pictorial works of the first Spanish Renaissance and in its Cathedral Museum you can find Goya canvases.
Very close to the property is the Tower of El Miguelete. Going up is something you should not miss out on.
Also right next to it is the building of the Lonja de la Seda, a unique example of civil Gothic style and highlighted as a heritage of humanity by UNESCO, captive by the spectacular helicoidal columns of its Contracting Room and the gargolas and figures of its façades.
Another point of interest very close is the Central Market, a large local sanctuary of proximity products, among modernist decorations, and considered the great apparatus of fresh food in Europe.
It also hosts the Carmen the only two gates of access to the medieval city that are preserved: the Serranos and the Quart that are a must visit in this medieval and unique neighborhood of Valencia.

The check-in will only be carried out if the customer has signed the accommodation agreement with us. To fill it with your data, you will be asked for your passport. It is not mandatory in Spain yet.
Lastly, along with the signing of the contract, the bank's proof of the income of a security refund corresponding to approximately one month's rent is requested.
- Overnight stays of more than 2 days are not allowed without charge per month. See cost of overnight stays of guests from the 3rd day onwards.
-Explicit authorization is required for events on the terrace, in common areas, or in private rooms (if there are more than 2 people).
-The terrace and its adjoining chillout area, elevator, entrance hall, and basement of the building are shared.
-We like to know the expectations and needs of the colivers before their move to the property in order to help them with their experience with us.
-Minimum accommodation contracted for one month and always for full fortnights (i.e. from the 1st to the 30th or from the 15th to the 15th of the following month) and a security deposit of one month that will be returned at the end of the contract after supervision and checking of the tenant's room.
-For couples, there is an increase of €100 only in consumption expenses. The rental income is not increased.
-Check-in and check-out coordinated with our managers in advance.
-The patio door must remain closed at all times. If a package or visit is received, the guest must go downstairs to personally open the door and close it afterwards.
-There is a mandatory Operational Pack (to be paid once against the Security Deposit), which includes amenities, bed linen and towels, and final cleaning upon departure, which ranges from €60 for rooms to €125 for individual apartments and is not included in the indicated rental cost.
-The guest will not be authorized to check in if he/she has not sent by email to our managers the signed Accommodation Contract (an essential requirement to stay at the property) and proof of payment of the Security Deposit.
Both the mailing of the signed Rental Agreement and the banking proof of the security deposit in the bank account indicated in the contract must occur inexcusably before the guest's arrival at the coliving.
You're right in the center of the old town, and although your enclosures are very good, you may experience some noise from outside. Expect this and think it's part of the charm of being in an area of Valencia where more than 3,000 years of civilizational history lie beneath the ground.
