Create your host account and complete verification
Before you can publish a listing or take a booking, your account needs to be verified. The process is short — usually under an hour of your time, plus a wait for review.
What you need
- A valid government-issued ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's licence).
- A phone number you can receive SMS on.
- An email address you actively check.
- (If hosting as a company) Your business registration document and VAT number where applicable.
The steps
- Sign up at List your coliving with your name, email, and a strong password.
- Confirm your email through the link we send.
- Add and verify your phone number with the SMS code.
- Upload a clear photo of your ID. Take it on a flat surface, all four corners visible, no glare.
- Take a short selfie when prompted — this matches your face to the ID.
- If hosting as a company, upload your business registration document and add your VAT/tax number.
- Submit for review.
Most accounts are reviewed within one business day. You'll be notified by email when verification completes.
While you wait
You can already start drafting your first listing. The listing won't be publishable until verification clears, but everything else (descriptions, photos, pricing) can be set up.
Common issues
- ID photo rejected — usually because of glare, a cropped corner, or low resolution. Retake in even daylight and resubmit.
- Selfie didn't match — make sure your face is well-lit and you're not wearing sunglasses or a mask.
- Company document unclear — we need to read the legal name, registration number, and registered address. A scan beats a phone photo.
Common onboarding mistakes and how to avoid them
1. Branding Violations
Mistake: Including your company brand name or logo in descriptions, photos, or videos.
Fix: Keep descriptions focused on the property, neighborhood, and community. Use a real photo for the community manager, not a corporate logo.
2. Poor Photo Organization
Mistake: Placing bathroom or bedroom photos in the general "Property" section.
Fix: * Room Photos: Only display these within the specific room section. Bathrooms: These are high-interest items; place them at the end of the specific room photo gallery. Community: Upload as many community and coexistence images as possible.
3. Room Naming & Inventory Errors
Mistake: Naming rooms with specific numbers (e.g., "Studio 64") or mismatching inventory counts.
Fix: Use generic names like "Private Room" or "Master Room" so you can easily move residents between identical units. Ensure your inventory details match your room types exactly.
4. The "Set and Forget" Approach
Mistake: Skipping the FAQ section or ignoring Internet speed details.
Fix: FAQs: You must reply to a minimum of 11 FAQs to provide resident confidence. Wifi: Never overlook upload/download speeds; these are the #1 feature tenants ask about.
5. Financial & Legal Oversights
Mistake: Waiting until the first booking to set up a payout method.
Fix: Set up the payout method in the Wallet section immediately. If you have questions about additional fees, contact the team before publishing.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can I start hosting before verification clears?
A: You can build listings, but you can't publish or receive bookings until your account is verified.
Q: Is verification a one-time thing?
A: Yes, for your individual identity. Business documents may need re-uploading if your registration changes.
Q: My ID is in a non-Latin alphabet. Is that a problem?
A: No. Our verification team handles ID documents in all major scripts.
