Lava Coworking

The owners are young, calm, and kind. The rooms are quite large and so are the common spaces - everything is huge.

It's very quiet if you come for remote work, there are no noises, you'll just hear countless small animals. The co-living experience is very positive. The photos don't do it justice (it's better than in the photos).

My favorites:
- The sunrise views in the mornings (I've added a video)
- The upstairs area, so spacious, where you can work remotely in the morning if you want, and at night watch a movie together from the couch (which is huge). They have a projector for watching movies on a big screen.
- The location. It's in the middle part of the island, so it's easier and quicker to go anywhere. There's a supermarket close by (by car).
- The security. I can leave all my tech gadgets (computers, etc.) in the living room, go on an excursion, and come back home to find everything intact. You can leave the rooms with the door open if you like, and nothing happens.
- The cleanliness and organization. All the kitchen cabinets have labels so you find everything instantly. The whole house is always clean and tidy. There's a laundry room.

I absolutely loved my time here! The co-living environment was incredibly warm and inviting, and the co-working spaces were designed to boost productivity. Everyone I met was friendly and open, which made networking a breeze. The amenities offered were top-notch, and maintenance issues, if any, were promptly addressed. This place provides the perfect balance between work and social life. I stayed here for a month and felt at home every single day. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a communal living experience!

I stayed for a month at this coliving space and absolutely loved it! The rooms are very spacious, as are the common areas. The wifi is great for calls. Mareike was an amazing host and always there to help me with anything I needed. I highly recommend it to any digital nomad looking to spend time in Sao Miguel!

I’ve been staying here for a three week workation and can absolutely recommend it!!

The house is amazingly equipped and set up with a lot of love and attention to detail. The internet connection is really fast and stable, every room has a desk and there are multiple places for co-working, as well as a separate office. The house is really quiet during the day and perfect for focused work.

The house is very spacious with two large living rooms and an incredible home cinema setup, a fully equipped kitchen, and a beautiful garden with several comfy outside sitting areas. It is incredibly clean in the house.

Mareike, the owner, is super friendly and helpful, and put a lot of care in the setup and maintenance of the house. She truly created a home more then just making it a place to stay.

I came for surfing and really appreciated the location of the house given it’s quite centrally located and nothing is too far, whilst renting a car is definitely recommended. It takes about 5mins by car to the closest surf spot in the North „Santa Barbara“ and about 10-15mins to the South „Populo“. Typically, there was always swell on either side of the island.

I absolutely loved my stay with Mareike and am hoping to come back next year. Thanks Mareike, for making my time on the island so memorable!

Amazing place and host! I loved every minute of my 1 month workation stay. Mareike has put so much thought and love into this coliving, and she never tires looking for further improvement or going above and beyond catering to her guests' every need, even though the house is already superbly equipped and organized.

Examples of this, just to name a few, are a perfectly stocked kitchen, a high speed internet connection, desks in the rooms, an inviting common work area, lots of comfy corners to hang out both inside and outside the coliving, a home theater, and a stunningly beautiful garden.
I spent 1 month working from here, and it simply was a great experience. Firstly because of the great technical setup,and secondly everyone was very respectful of the working folk's situation.
What's more,the coliving is super clean,and there is also a dishwasher,a washing machine,and lots of storage space for both foodand luggage,making it easy for guests to do their part in keeping it that way.

As mentioned by others,the location is also great to get around the island especially when you have acar or scooter.The fast roads are nearbyand take you tothe Northand South coastin no time.Without car eventhe occasional taxi tothe beachor even Ponta Delgada remains affordablebecauseofthis good connection.
