1. How long of a lease do I need to sign?

We have leases ranging from 6-month to year long leases. Longer leases give you a discount of course!

2. How do you handle utility payments?

Easy! All utilities are included. Trash, water, sewage, wifi, gas and electricity.

3. Do you provide cable?

We want the house to be interactive and TV seems to always shut that down. However, you are free to put a TV in your room, attach an antenna or stream content.

4. How big are the rooms?

Depends upon the house. Each house has rooms ranging from large master bedrooms to guest rooms. Some have large rooms above garages, former rec rooms, and many other options.

5. What if I don’t like it once I move in... for any reason?

It can be a leap of faith for some, while others just want to dive right in. Either way, our leases have a first month, “no questions asked” breakage policy. Provide us 30 days notice for any reason, and we’ll let you out of the remainder of your lease without penalty.

6. If something else in the community becomes available, can I switch out?

Yes, you can transition to another room or another location and we won’t consider it a break of your lease.

7. How do I know I’ll have house mates I’ll get along with and that are truly like-kind?

We have several steps we go through for every applicant to make sure they fit the house. Couch potatoes need not apply! Each applicant is interviewed, must pass a criminal background search, and agree to the common house guidelines. This weeds out those that just want a cheap place!

8. Are the rooms themselves furnished?

The house comes fully furnished with the items in the kitchen, living room and shared spaces you need to live comfortably. However, we do not furnish bedrooms directly. However, we have a partnership with Ikea to obtain the Essentials Kit for furnishing your room on a budget. - Bed Frame $49 - Side Table $15 - Desk $49 - Chair $20 - Dresser $159 - Mattress $199 --> Total: $492

9. How much is the security deposit and is it fully refundable?

$400 of the security deposit and $300 is refundable.

Useful Information

1. What payments are required to lock my booking in?

If you book more than 14 days before moving in, you may only pay a $300 Down Payment now to guarantee your stay. If it's less than 14 days, you need to pay the first month's rent as well as a security deposit.

2. How do I make payments and when is rent due?

We collect your first month's rent as well as a security deposit before you move in.
Subsequent months are due on the first day of each month.

3. Can I do a check out the place / physical tour?

In the era of physical distancing, there’s never been a better time to take advantage of online technology.
Many properties offer Virtual Tours using 3D photos/videos. If you need to see the place, residents or hosts, you may schedule a tour after submitting a Booking Request or the Ask a Question under.

4. Security Deposit

Coliving.com will transfer your rent and deposit to the host 24h after you move in.
The deposit is refunded directly by the host within 30 days of the lease end date.
The deposit will be returned in full if you have no pending charges, and have followed the check-out process.

5. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: Moderate
Your 1st month's rent will be 100% refunded if you cancel up to 90 days before move-in, and 50% if you cancel up to 14 days before, minus a service fee. Read More

I moved to Charlotte for work and when I got here I didn't know anyone. With this coliving not only did I get a great place to stay but I also got introduced to a bunch of like-minded folks like I immediately connected with established a social life in no time. I've since moved on but I stayed connected with many of the people I meet through the community and still attend many of the events they host I would highly recommend this company to anymore moving to Charlotte for the first time!
