Discover the charming Ruby Charm Houses, a unique retreat in the heart of Porto that blends tradition, history, and hospitality.
Established in 2015 by a visionary mother-and-son duo, this project was born out of a desire to preserve and revitalize an authentic slice of the city: the picturesque "Ilha Cardoso," a cluster of 14 traditional houses.
With a thoughtful and sensitive approach, the duo restored the neighborhood, ensuring that the four families who originally lived there could continue to call it home, now with improved living conditions.
The remaining houses were carefully transformed into tourist accommodations, offering visitors a truly immersive cultural experience.
By staying at Ruby Charm Houses, guests have the chance to connect with other travelers as well as long-time residents, experiencing the genuine essence of Porto’s "ilhas." This is a place where the past and present intertwine, creating unforgettable memories for everyone who visits.

They welcomed us at the entrance and reserved a parking spot on the street (right in front of the coliving).
They provided detailed information about the operation of the coliving as well as the main tourist attractions (current) and cultural activities (that weekend) and the best restaurants. All information available via QR code without the use of paper, and the invoice was sent via email.
The reception at the coliving was personalized with a ribbon with our names, a glass of port wine, and a chocolate cookie. Although breakfast was not included, they offered bread, milk, fruit juice, jams, coffee, and tea. They also provided a makeup removal kit. There is a first aid kit and a sewing kit available in the coliving, in addition to board games. In addition to everything described on the website. It was undoubtedly one of the best experiences we had at the level of coliving, matching places with 5 stars.
A nice and quiet place in the city. The owners are very kind and provide you with any tips in and around Porto. They surprised us with a filled fridge and port wine. The distance to the center is about a 10-minute walk. The metro is close. I recommend this place to visit.
I absolutely loved my stay at this coliving—I’d give it a 25 out of 10 if I could! The property was quiet, clean, and safe, with a charming little fish pond whose gentle trickling water was so soothing at night. The hosts were incredibly kind, accommodating, and full of humor, which made me feel right at home. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches like food items in the fridge and their help securing a parking spot for my car. They shared wonderful local recommendations, and I truly enjoyed everything about my stay. I would definitely return and highly recommend this coliving!

The metro is 300 meters away, and the train a bit further. Walking to the center takes 15 minutes.
A charming place run by a very caring and friendly couple who try to help you with everything. The rooms are beautiful, and the comfort and tranquility are spectacular. Everything was very, very good; it is ideal for returning to Porto and coming back to this place without a doubt. We stayed as a couple with our 4-year-old daughter in apartment 7 and had a barbecue in the garden. I can only say one downside is that I would have liked to stay a few more days; I only stayed 4 days, and it felt too short. Thank you very much, we will return.

We had a wonderful time at the coliving. Our host went out of his way to make sure our stay was perfect. From his communication after we booked to greeting us out the front of the accommodation and his very helpful information when we checked in, he was great. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. An added bonus was the breakfast items, which were very generous and unexpected. The accommodation has free parking and was an easy walk to the Porto centre. Would definitely stay again.
