Rooms For Rent in Antioquia

Antioquia is one of Columbia's 32 departments, with a mostly mountainous landscape and a small stretch of land sneakily bordering the Caribbean Sea. Home to Medellín, the second-largest city in Columbia, it is no surprise that nomads from across the globe travel to Antioquia for a unique coliving experience.

A remarkable 80% of Antioquia is mountainous, with many of its mountain ranges forming part of the exceptional Andes mountain range. The Andes outlines the west of South America and is the world's longest continental mountain range in the world.

One of the most popular places to visit and stay in Antioquia in Medellín. The city has survived its violent past to become one of the most beautiful and historically rich Columbian cities. With sensational street food, almost perfect weather, and authentic street markets, it's hard not to fall in love with the culture and now modern vibe of the "City of Eternal Spring."

With plenty of history and culture to offer, it is no surprise that a place like Casa de la Memoria stands tall and proud as a memorial to the victims of armed conflict. The monument uses interactive platforms to take you on an honest and gut-wrenching trip through time. It is an eye-opening must for all visitors to the city.

Museo de Antioquia, which was previously the city hall, was transformed into a museum housing collections by Fernando Botero. Fernando, one of Colombia's most renowned artists, is known for his fondness of painting all things plump.

The city has way more to offer than art and history, though. In the center of Medellín lies a botanical garden that resembles a perfectly created piece of art. The garden provides a stunning enormous collection of orchids, a cactus garden, and a butterfly garden. Entry to the garden is free, and it is a perfect location for a picnic.

A must-see neighborhood in Medellín is Poblado, filled with expats and nomads alike. With an abundance of trees providing shade on warm days and a fantastic café culture keeping you hydrated and connected to the Internet, Poblado is a popular upmarket neighborhood and has an impressive nightlife, with memorable nights starting at Parque Lleras, a small park shielded by trees with local vendors by day and vibrant culture at night.

When it comes to getting around Medellín, all forms of transport are easy and cheap. The bus network makes its way around the whole city, taking you everywhere you need to go. The metro runs from one end of the city to another, and some cable cars will even take you up the mountain. If public transport is not your style, taxis are easy to find and super affordable.

With the weather all year round, extremely affordable, and fantastic culture, it is no surprise that many nomads are coliving here in increasing numbers. It is an enticing hub for visitors looking to experience Columbia at its finest.
