What if the landlord requires a deposit?

Setting the Security Deposit:

The host must manually set the required deposit, as it is not automatically set.

If a deposit is required and has been properly configured, you will see the amount in the reservation request section (after entering the move-in and move-out dates) before you create the reservation request. This information will also appear in the request details.

Payment of the Deposit:

The deposit must be transferred to host's bank account by the latest on the day the lease starts (usually the day you move in).

After Your Stay:

Following your stay, the host is obligated to create a deposit statement, which assesses the property's condition and determines the exact amount to be refunded. If no additional costs are due, the host should return your payment within 14 days after your move out. If there are any additional deductions required, the host has the right to extend the refund period to finalize the exact costs. Please ensure you provide the host with your banking details for the refund.

Important Note:

If you are requested to pay a (refundable) deposit that is not stated in the Renters Terms, DO NOT PAY the deposit to the host and inform Coliving.com's Customer Support team immediately. Such action by the host violates Coliving.com’s Terms and Conditions, and their listing may be subject to deactivation.
