For those NYC renters looking for that elusive “hip, but chill” combo, you’re in luck. Perched south of Prospect Park, Park Slope boasts the best of both worlds— a cozy, small-town feel in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn. Think: chic restaurants and stores amidst beautiful brownstones. Plus, it’s cheaper than nearby hotspots like Williamsburg and DUMBO. It’s the type of place that spoils you for the rest of NYC. Super walkable and easy to navigate— walk to Whole Foods for a few groceries or hop on the F or G line and get to downtown Manhattan in less than 15 minutes.Post up in one of our fully furnished and newly renovated rooms in Fourth Ave. Enjoy stainless steel appliances, beautiful wood/laminate floors, plenty of natural light, air conditioning, dishwasher, and all the other perks you think you’ll have to give up when you move to NYC. Plus, it’s all included in one flat fee— rent, utilities, weekly cleaning service, high-speed wifi, and (bonus) complimentary streaming services. We did our best to make everything safe & convenient (case and point: keyless entry and pre-screened housemates). Here are a few of our favorite local gems:
* Four & Twenty Blackbirds: cozy bakery and Café featuring seasonal homemade pies
* Stone Park Café: Relaxed restaurant with commitment to using seasonal, local ingredients
* Calexico: Mexican eatery in an upbeat space with exposed rafters and brick walls
* Al di la Trattoria: Northern Italian mainstay with intimate, old-world inspired dining room
* The Bell House: Big-name acts and up-and-comers play at this big bar/performance venue set in a former warehouse
You can choose an initiallease length of anywhere between 3-18 months. If you love living here, you can always extend your lease as well. Residents are also free to move between our properties without any sort of penalty.
Each resident signs a copy of the House Rules with the lease - this provides a set of guidelines for certain issues like quiet hours, and also outlines very strict rules on topics such as harassment. If you’d like a copy before going forward, please feel free to ask!
Our tenants come from all walks of life: we have business professionals, students, artists, essential workers, nurses, doctors… there is no set mold for who joins our brand. Typically, our residents are either looking for a shorter-term living solution, or are relocating to NYC for the first time. If that’s not you, don’t be discouraged! We have lifelong New Yorkers living here too.
We look for individuals who are open-minded, considerate, and are looking for an opportunity to share a beautiful home with someone they may not know. We believe that our tenants are our brand, and therefore we want people within our homes to follow the golden rule. On top of this, we look for tenants who make 40x monthly rent, a credit score of around 600+, and no criminal history related to personal safety or property damage.
Nope! We will handle all showings and will give you advance notice of them. While you and your roommates don’t need to be home for showings, it’s a great way to meet the people who may be living with you.
Requests for service and support animals are considered on a case-by-case basis. It is contingent on whether or not the current roommates are comfortable with service/support animals. Due to close quarter laws, the housemates are able to make such a decision without violating any laws of housing accessibility.
We strongly encourage our residents to handle disputes among themselves. This is a good way to build a strong home, and we have found that residents prefer to handle their issues this way. With that being said, if a dispute arises that our residents can’t handle themselves, our teams can help mediate and find a solution.
When the lease of a resident expires, we will send notification to the other residents letting them know that the room has become available and we will begin the process of renting it to a new person. With that said, the current residents have the option to tell their friends about the availability first, and can get rewards if their friend signs.
We believe that the safety and well-being of our residents is paramount. Therefore, we take great care in placing individuals into homes that they will enjoy, and all of our residents are thoroughly vetted with comprehensive criminal and financial background checks. We will also help tenants set up a meeting prior to move-in to ensure that the roommates will have a great experience together.
In the era of physical distancing, there’s never been a better time to take advantage of online technology.
Many properties offer Virtual Tours using 3D photos/videos. If you need to see the place, residents or hosts, you may schedule a tour after submitting a Booking Request or the Ask a Question under.
