The building is located on the Upper West Side, within walking distance of both Columbia University and Central Park. Our coliving community is a perfect fit for a student, intern, or young professional, including international roommates. The apartment is fully furnished and features 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, allowing for two rooms to share one bathroom and three rooms to share the other. The common space includes a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, and laundry. Also, the apartment has both a dining area and a lounge area with a smart TV. High-speed internet is included. All our apartments have an in-house representative who helps us ensure the apartment is well-maintained and that all roommates thrive. We have general house rules everyone must follow and a weekly cleaning schedule everyone must participate in. We provide all basic cleaning supplies to set you up for success! All bedrooms have a full bed, a nightstand, a closet, a dresser, a private heater, black-out curtains, and recess lighting. Some rooms also include a study desk with an office chair and an AC unit. The building has 24h surveillance and a superintendent who helps with maintenance. The building also provides a video intercom system that allows you to see who is at the front door from the street. The apartment is located on the 4th floor, and there is no elevator.

Manhattan Valley is a neighborhood in the northern part of the Upper West Side in Manhattan, NYC. It is bounded by West 110th Street to the north, Central Park West to the east, West 96th Street to the south, and Broadway to the west. It was formerly known as the Bloomingdale District, a name still in occasional use. The property is located right around the corner from the train entrance, as well as plenty of cafes, restaurants, shopping, Central Park, Columbia University, and much more.

Booking rules

Before we can confirm your booking, you will need to go through a quick application process. For US citizens, this includes filling out an online application and accepting a $20 screening. If your credit is not strong, you can use a cosigner.

If you are international without a social security number, you must fill out the application and provide us with a photo of your active visa. If you have not received your visa yet but have been accepted to a school, an internship or a job opportunity, we can tentatively book you while we wait on the visa to arrive; however, we must see the visa before you can move in.

Once your application is approved, you will need to sign a lease agreement and the house rules. The room you would like to book is not secured for you until the booking process is completed.

You don´t need to tour the property, and here is why:

- Restricting viewings provide equal opportunities for everyone, whether you are a local or live abroad. Plus, it preserves the privacy of our coliving communities.
- If anything is unclear, you can easily reach out to the property by clicking "Contact host" and ask for more details. Make sure your questions are not already covered in the description or the FAQ section.
- Coliving.com makes sure the coliving property is as advertised, by only sending any money to the operator 24h after you have successfully moved in.

My booking has been accepted, now what?

Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your ideal moving-in date, the host will be there to welcome you to your new home. They will help you settle in your room, show you around the space, and introduce you to the other community members. Once we’ve answered your questions, you will be given time to get settled and make yourself at home.
Do I need to sign a contract/lease?

It’s enough that you accept our Renters Terms.

Will I get the same room as on the photos?

The room you will be assigned might differ slightly from the photos but will match the room type. You are booking a room/bed by type, not a specific unit.

You may book a shorter stay first and then extend once you know more about your needs.
What if the place is not as advertised?

You have 24hrs to let us know if everything is okay. If you think you’ve been missold to, or the listing was significantly different to what you got, we’ll help you find somewhere else to live, or refund your money.

You may cancel with no fees until you have paid. Once you have paid for your booking, the Cancellation Policy needs to be followed.

In order to build safe and comfortable communities, all our residents are vetted through an application process and background check.

Can I smoke inside? How about vaping?

Smoking is not allowed anywhere within the property. Resident and their guests may not engage in any illegal drug-related activity, including but not limited to medical cannabis on or near the premises. We have the right to terminate this agreement if resident and/or guests engage in such activities.
Are service and emotional support animals allowed?

If you have a service animal, it’s up to the housemates to decide whether they are comfortable having an animal in the house.

Due to the close quarters laws, the housemates are able to make the judgement call without violating any housing accessibility laws.
Is it permissible to have visitors during the day/night?

Visitors are welcome as long as your roommates are informed and are ok with it.
