Smena Station is a peer led skillshare co-living for experts in different fields. Our main goal is to create meaningful experiences and raise living standards of our members by combining skills and resources. In less than six months we grew from one to four locations because we are not a business – we are a community. A community without borders that consists of professionals that do not tie themselves to one place. Rule breakers, mavericks, straight-A students that skip classes, discoverers that are always ready to set sails and live several lives instead of one.
We live on a paradise island in a beautiful house with a team of like-minded people, creating successful projects and doing productive free-lance work.
Our main value is to surround ourselves with people who share the same values and actively collaborate with them.
We are successful because:
We know why we get up in the morning, we set goals and achieve them;
We practice natural physical activities — walking, hiking, biking and surfing;
We allocate time for adventure and entertainment;
We eat healthy and tasty food from local fishermen and farmers, we cook dinner for everybody;
We love what we do.
The very first Smena station was launched in Sri Lanka last spring. In 4 months we held 8 sessions in a beautiful house in Weligama.
Smena station has
— 6 simple and comfortable rooms;
— large kitchen with all necessary utensils;
— toilets and showers;
— spacious working areas;
— garden with palm trees, coconut trees and lovely monkeys.
A room is shared between 2 people of the same gender.
For couples we have bedrooms with a double bed.

Cost of participation
Smena Station is not for profit. We follow the radical transparency applied at Burning Man (along with it's Ten Principles) and combine our resources splitting expenses among the members. This allows us to get more value out of the money we are investing in the project.
The collective fee of each participant is $ 250 for three weeks.
The budget of project is divided by the participants.
What does the fee consist of?
The fee consists of:
— house rent, internet and cleaning service once per week;
— compensation of time for preparation and organization of Smena;
— curators' wage;
— communal needs;
— Smena development contribution;
